Yum... No really... worth the trip across the bridge!

Well, I've been back time and time again since my last comment above, and something has to be said about consistency! This place gets busier and busier every time I visit and the food is as delicious as it was the first time! @ carilgriffin... I don't think that they would serve bolognese with meatballs, pretty sure you have it wrong, and smeared with tomato paste? Your knowledge of food is definitely questionable. This 'restaurant' is a smart little addition to a sometime boring Mosman nightlife. Keep up the great work guys, we'll definitely be back!

I had high hopes for my visit to In Cucina a cute looking little Italian “hole in the wall” style BYO cafe/restaurant with about 10 tables. I dream of a cheerful and reasonably priced Italian in Mosman-one you can just pop into for a plate of antipasti, beautiful simple ravioli or delectable dessert.

Unfortunately, in Cucina was not this on the night we visited, but also it feels as if it has an identity crisis. The blackboard menu is a little uninspiring and does not instantly have a yum appeal-also no desserts on blackboard. Many people choose their mains after choosing dessert! The wine was duly opened with a smile and then we waited and waited with no food in front of us, a crime in an Italian cafe. The lone waiter was too busy to catch his eye, busy greeting other customers.

Eventually our order is taken, I choose the seafood spaghetti for $34 and my friend the polpette with bolognaise sauce for $23. The food took over an hour to be served, with apologies. My seafood spaghetti came in a foil parcel and was nice but lacking in flavour. The polpette was served with toasted bread only. Even for a lady this was a small portion and for $23 we had not expected a tasting plate. The meat balls were okay but the sauce was masked with strong tomato paste. I will give it another go, but on this visit there are better options very close by.
