Had the burger the other day and have to say it is one of the best burgers I have ever had in Sydney! Awesome bun, char grilled patty, beetroot relish, seeds mustard, vintage cheddar and pickle (all burgers should come with pickle, always lifts a burger to the next level). Will definitely drop in again when I'm in Paddington.

Went for dinner on a week night at 5pm before it got busy. Ordered the steak and a side bread. Steak was cooked perfectly (medium-rare). Bread was terrible (didn't think it was possible to screw up bread), frozen baguette charred on either end but cold in the middle, butter so cold had trouble cutting it with steak knife.

Not the most comfortable place but is close and makes a great steak. Will come back again.

Great venue and friendly staff, a group of 5 of us went for dinner and we had a ball. They produce their own beef, paddock to plate best steak I have ever had. I will definitely be going back.

Nice pub and the food was ok, but the coffee was awful and service was slow.

Do not eat here. The 400g "signature dish" ribeye, ordered medium rare, arrived shrivelled and blackened, way overcooked. Hard to see how anyone looking at this dish could imagine it should be taken out to customers. Chips lukewarm and soggy, vegetables a few bits of chopped up carrot, cauliflower and broccoli. Shiraz by the glass very rough, tart. A lot of attention given to renovations and concept, but just doesn't deliver.

Went to 2-4-1 Pizza and cocktail night, Thursday 3rd March '12. Gotta say I was skeptical as these 1/2 price nights bars usually don't do their best. But the pizza was Outrageously good! I tried to offer the chef a job but he just laughed it off. Cocktails were pretty handy as well.

Excellent Steak, highly recommend a visit to the Imperial for a steak, they seem to have this sorted. Service was nice and friendly and the pub had relaxed atmosphere, very welcoming. Enjoyed the new refurbishment as it has a lot of natural light. Definitely a great new venue to the Sydney Pub Scene.

Went there for the first time and thought it looked nice. The drinks were expensive but that's typical these days. Had a pizza and it made my night. Very yummy.

Got there on a Thursday night, the acoustics are shocking, could hardly hear my friend talk. We couldn't find a seat down stairs, were told we could sit upstairs but could only order pizza from upstairs as they 'prefer not to deliver food that you've ordered from the downstairs bar, upstairs" must be terrible on the knees.

My friend ordered a vegetarian pizza which took over an hour to get to us.
Pathetic effort all round Imperial. Shame on you!

I think it's just reopened, couldn't get a meal there not sure why, service good but all those hard surfaces made it the loudest place in the Southern Hemisphere, we could not hold a conversation. Inside has been well decorated but please do something about the hard surfaces and the noise. The bouncers scowling at patrons is also not a great look.
