Went here for our company's xmas lunch. The place was busy because it was Xmas day. We've booked a table for 20 people but have to seat separately because they don't have table that long enough.
Because we order the function menu, the bread and entree (seafood platter) comes before we order our main. But later I found out that they have asked the 2nd table on which main they want. Not a biggie, just some inconsistency in the service.
The breads and entree was nice. Food platter comes with few oysters, baked oysters with ham, smoked salmons and some crumbled calamari/squid. The major let down was the main. I ordered my steak to be medium rare, but got the one that is well cooked, while the other order medium but got a medium rare like meat. Some other order well done, and got a burnt meat on the outside, but the inside is all red and bloody.
The desserts came last and was just ok. And we couldn't be bothered to stay longer for the tea/coffee because of the disappointment from the main menu.
Overall, we might come back and try the "non function" menu while the place is not as busy. But if the place is busy, you might want to avoid.

We are regulars for Sunday lunch, great atmosphere. You do pay for the location but I think compared to other venues at Cockle Bay/King St Wharf, this is pretty much on the mark in terms of food and service which is simple, unpretentious and welcoming.

We came for my meat-loving son's 17th birthday. We all had steaks, all were cooked to perfection, from my rare tenderloin to my boy's well done scotch fillet. Service was friendly and professional. Desserts delicious. We think this is the nicest of all the nick's group. We'll definitely be back.

I had the tenderloin with Prawn on top cooked medium rare. I thought it was Perfectly delicious. Unfortunately, everyone else in my group who ordered something else was less than impressed. So expect different experience depending on what you order!

Several years back I had dinner here for my birthday with a group of friends. Being a Saturday night, they were quite full and busy. However, our food too over an hour to arrive, after much attempt to remind them. They didn't seem apologetic or cared!
Two weeks ago, two friends and I went back for lunch on a nice Saturday afternoon. We were seated in the middle, near the entrance. Once we were ready to order, no one paid any attention to us, except for one waitress who was taking orders at another table. We waited and waited, then attempted to get someone's attention again, but to no avail.
There were many waiters walking around but totally ignored us. I even put my arm up in the air to grab their attention, but again, no one cared to notice me! This went on for about 10 mintues. One waiter even looked right past us to greet new patrons entering the restaurant. This was the turning point for us, so we got up, walked out and went next door.
Twice in a row this restaurant has given me extremely bad service. I would Never go back here again. And seeing the reviews from other patrons on this website, I now know this restaurant offers poor service, so it wasn't just me.

Food is Good, however the waiter was really rude. I ordered the Chargrilled Meat & Seafood Platter. As it is listed on their menu - he tries to tell me that I ordered the chargrilled meat platter, and not the one with seafood. So I grabbed the menu and asked him to show me the 'chargrilled meat' platter. There is only 1 - with the seafood! Tosser.

The location was excellent but the food was below average as the steak was over cooked the service was very average when I asked to speak to the manager would not come out to speak to us. As I noticed the manager was working behind the bar and did not want to take responsibility for any of the mistakes that happened. The worst thing is you pay top price but do not get anything in return. I checked there website and noticed they have more restraunts but I will not visit the other restraunts of this company!

Slow food, slow wait staff, bland meat and hot drinks that were served cold to top it off. And then you get the bill and no apology when you highlight some of the problems. Overpriced and the place looks emptier every time I go, I'm not surprised as to why at all.

A bit pricey. The seafood was ok, the steak was good. The only down fall was it felt like they were trying to get rid of us even though the restaurant was empty.

Terribly overpriced! Location is rather nice but food is nothing special and I honestly expected great service for the price I paid, which I didn't get. Came here for my birthday and ordered chargrilled and seafood platter which they claimed their "special". Well I don't think so.
We politely asked if we could get something else to replace the kangaroo skewers from the menu and were told that they don't have anything "with the same value". So we asked the skewers to be taken off the platter and of course when the food came out the skewers were still there.
I'm also not impressed with the seafood, which is just the same as those cheap ones you can find anywhere. Trio bread we had as entree was really nice though, probably the highlight of the night. It will be my first and last visit to this restaurant, as I found quality of the food and service doesn't match the price.
