It's good value, authentic Italian, We tried to sit but the restaurant was full on a tuesday night so we had to wait 20 minutes, we ordered and it took a while for our meal to arrive we were starting to get impatient, Food was fine not quite the worth the wait thing but authentic, risotto a bit overcooked. Would like to come again and try the pastas.

Been here many times and I am going back tonight and used this site to find some details for a friend. Then I saw some of the reviews and wanted to put in my 2c.

With an Italian parent I don't normally go to Italian restaurants, but this place is always a pleasure to visit. Yes - it's small and can be a bit warm but I love it.

The service is always done with a great casual attitude and they don't fuss too much but are always there at the right time filling a glass or taking dishes.
It's been there since I was a kid and I am sure I will take my kids there too.

It is Exactly what it claims to be. A cosy, friendly and relaxed diner for locals and those lucky enough to find it.

I have ordered a gnocchi here expecting to be full after but was not. The staff explained, when I asked about the portion being so small, that I should have ordered a garlic bread first and that the owners have instructed the chef to prepare smaller servings so boost entrée and garlic bread sales. I live in Manly and have not been back since, shame though as their take away lasagne was great.

A small, cosy restaurant with a queue for tables! We had generous portions of delicious pasta for mains, although the garlic bread that we had for a starter was nothing exceptional. They don't seem to have a dessert menu, not that we could have fitted one in! BYO. We will definitely return to this restaurant for a relaxed, good value pasta meal.

Il Gondo is perfect for a hearty pasta meal. It's not expensive, the food is fresh and tasty, the service is efficient and it's BYO. What more could you want? Let the haters stay away, all too often I've had to wait for a table so they must be doing something right.

Mummas kitchen sort of thing, great value, and great local restaurant. Byo at the bottleshop over the road next to coles. Love this place. Its easy.

Cheap, simple and friendly service make this little place an easy option when you can't be bothered to cook. Sticks to the pasta dishes and you're on a winner.

Food is better than okay. I say this because the vegetables I was served with my very nice veal were past their sell by date. I know they are not the main part of the dish - but I still expect them to be fresh.

Pasta is good, Gnocchi is good. Lasagne could be better, it's too creamy.
Nice little place - and very friendly.

We often go here for a nice midweek meal - the food is consistently tasty, the service is prompt and friendly, and the prices are realistic, although I wouldn't recommend it if you're after somewhere fancy to take a romantic date - it's just good, reliable food.
