Friendly, quick service, and perfect if you're on a diet, the food is all very very healthy! More expensive than a typical fast food place but the quality is much better and more effort has gone into it.
This place is delicious! Was pretty suspicious considering it's vegan but was YUMMO. So far tried the spinach and eggplant "lasagne" the couscous salad and cauli soup. Going back to sample the rest asap!!
The food here is great - OK a little bland, but at least it is healthy and to a degree, imaginative. Sydney is not so great for veg food, so you have to enjoy it when you get it. Iku does the job very well!
The food is tasty, filling and good value which makes it great as a lunch stop when you are working. The only thing that lets it down is the limited space inside. Don't let this put you off though. If it is a sunny day I recommend sitting out the back, cross-legged and enjoy the birds that come and visit. It's a great informal place to hang out and catch up with an old friend!
Finally got to try the casserole (as I have been a big fan of the tofu fritters) and wanted something warm to eat on a cold day. There were two choices on the menu and I opted for the red kidney one along with a small serving of side salad (you can choose three items from their selections) and it was all very tasty. The food is a bit pricey but I would prefer to eat this than other kind of fast food. The service is very friendly and you don't come here for atmosphere but for quick, simple and tasty food.
I love Iku and have for many years. The tahini dressing is divine and now that I've moved away I miss the millet balls and vegie burgers so much! Desserts are creative and yum.
Good vegan macrobiotic food, a rarity in Sydney -- at last, a place where I don't have to treat every item on the menu with suspicion!
The service is calm and straightforward, the staff are happy to answer any questions you might have and won't try to move you along if you tend to eat slowly during busy periods. It's a little pricey, but if macro food is your thing then the variety and quality are both very good. Bancha tea is always wonderful.
Ah, since when can hippies fork out $5.00 for a millet ball which tastes like tofu ball, in fact tastes like every single thing in their display? Last I checked, tofu block 500g only cost $2.00
