Great fresh food. The atmosphere is lacking but when there are larger groups there it's not too bad. We tend to arrive early as service can be a little slow when in full swing. Best japanese food around though.
Great value. When we arrived at the restaruant we didn't think much of it but we were pleasently surprised. The food and service were very good. Excellent value. We' ll be back.
We ate here out of interest a little while ago, probably in March or April. I'd agree with the comments about it being utterly lacking in atmosphere, and every time we go past it, it's pretty empty. Wonder how they keep going. The service is attentive and the show is OK, but it's not the most engaging I've seen. Food average.
I went there twice. Yes the teppanyaki was entertaining, but taste really salty. Basically just like soy. What's worse is the others. The salmon sushi was very small and the slice was thin, the rice was made with long-grain rice (sushi must be made with short grain rice). The katsu-don was horrible, no egg sauce just ready made BBQ sauce. the chefs are from indonesia. Have not gone back there since.
Everything is great about this place except for the place itself. In the dead end of King Street, the restaurant is nothing except for three large grills and seats around. No atmosphere at all. Food is great, the entertainment value is excellent but really, it's only fun in big groups before a night out. In terms of value, I wasn't exactly still hungry when I left but I definitely could have had more to eat. Worth one visit or two but I wouldn't be a regular.
Went here for a friend's birthday. Best Japanese I've eaten in ages. We all had banquet B, there was enough variety and serving sizes were just right. The chef performed as I hoped he would (caught - raw egg in bowls, cooked egg in mouths and rice in bowls) and we all had a great time!! Definitely recommend - actually planning the next visit now!!
We took our 8 y.o. last night for her birthday dinner. Generous well-priced servings, really enjoyed the food, lovely staff, special pancake and ice-cream treat with candle (on the house) for the birthday girl. We loved it, and will definitely return.
The pricing was affordable. This was the worst Teppanyaki I have had in twenty years of eating it all over the world. The food was burnt, overcooked and ill prepared, an embarrassment to the art of Japanese Teppanyaki. An Aussie could have done a better barbeque. It was just edible. First time won't be back.
A great night out. So much food at such reasonable prices. The staff and chef were so friendly. A great place to bring a group of friends. I'll be going back.
This would have to be worst teppan bar I've been to - I've tried it three times to give them the benefit of any doubt about the first two times and it still fails to impress - it's style-less, loud and the chefs display none of nuance, class and flair that I've experienced in many teppan bars worldwide - try harder people - do better!!!
