I have been here 5 times and I love it a little over priced but entertainment value is fantastic. The chefs are great even if you don't understand them you still laugh. The people talking about raw egg come on its teppanyaki your gunna get messy anyway. I love this restaurant you just need to excuse the eggs all over the wall I strongly suggest.
This place has actually changed its name to Ichiban teppanyaki. I haven't tried the teppanyaki yet but they have lunch specials. I was greatly surprised that my meal really filled me up, but it didn't look like there was much there.
Prices are reasonable but the food took a little time to come out and the waitress looks like she can't smile or doesn't want to be there. They didn’t have change in the till so what she does is giving me change for the tip jar, which has water in it, so I got wet change back! Is this what you call service? I was a little bemused.
My friends and I walked into an EMPTY restaurant. The restrooms were disgusting (smelly and mouldy and wet). They should have been spotless or should have had at least some decent level of hygiene because there were no customers. So I'm thinking what are the kitchens like?
The food was mediocre. My friends had raw eggs thrown at them so that they couldn't catch it; hence they had raw eggs down their shirts. It was really unpleasant. Will tell all my friends not to visit this restaurant and I will never come again.
Have been a few times and the first was by far the best as I didn't know what to expect and was there in a large group (14ppl). The people in our group who had been before were recognised by one of the chefs and the harder catches were given to them. They try to make it had for one person so the rest of the group can have a laugh, tell them it's someones birthday and watch the eggs go at them.
The food is ok, I'm not the biggest fan of Asian food so it's ok by my western standards if it was more out there with the flavour they would probably not get as many western people eating there.
The service is very good if you have a reasonable sized group, as you get your own chef. If you are taking people who haven't been to a Teppanyaki restaurant before book early so they don't see the other people in the restaurant having things thrown at them and know what to expect. I wouldn't go there with a girlfriend or just by yourself for dinner as it would be boring. You need to get together your most clumsy friends and have a laugh as they are coated in egg and rice. It is also good to go with younger children as they love the food fight aspect of the place.
Went here with a group and it was a total hoot. I agree with other comments where the raw egg was not appreciated. I personally was covered and when it looked like I was going to cop another one I gave the cook/chef person a death stare and he luckily understood what I meant and threw it at someone else instead. Food was pretty good and really nice and fresh.
A group of us attended this restaurant. We had raw eggs thrown at us (not with the purpose of us catching it). All food was slopily thrown at us and our clothes not intending to aim for the mouth as many other nice Teppanyaki restaurants. Food Quality is the worst asian I have ever eaten. Very bland tasting.
Not the place for catching with the friends. The place is too loud and noisy to talk plus everyone sits around the edge of a long table so you're too far away from some people. Didn't get enough food. For $35 a head I think you pay more for the experience than value for money in terms of food. Our chef unfortunately wasn't the most exciting, it was more fun watching other tables.
I was walking down the street with my friend and we saw this beautiful Japanese restaurant. We just died when we got in because the atmoshpere is just amazing and flawless! The prices are fabulous and the food is out of this world. I will definitely go there again!
