Just ate here. Chinese New Year! Busy, busy, busy! Staff got us a table for two in a thrice and I had a beer in a couple of minutes. Food was Ok. Service was fine considering the madhouse that is Chinese New Year. Reasonable value. Just a nice (noisy) night really. One thing, if you don't like to see live lobsters, fish, etc. taken out of tanks for execution don't go here. The restaurant is very crowded, the tanks are at the front, the kitchen is at the back and big lobsters do not like being carried by waiters.

Seriously, for a Chinese restaurant rude service was a covering trait but this was totally another level of rudeness, I don't think the word "thank you" is in any of there vocab. The food was below average even the crab dishes were extremely salty, the rest were below average cafe style tastes, extremely disappointed.

The weirdest bit that tipped the night off was when it came time for dessert, the standard dessert was normally fruit and sweet soup (pretty standard for chinese restaurant) but in this case they served us a funny jelly with beans on a plate and said that they had run out of the sweet soup for dessert, so we thought nothing of it.

Though later on, as I was passing the bathroom I saw other tables being served the sweet soup dessert on questioning the staff the only explanation was "no more", "finish". Definitely not recommended!

Noodles and soup dishes aren't bad by any stretch of the imagination. However, it is a bit expensive considering the Asian restaurant competition in Hurstville. I have not come across the overcharging/mispricing that the previous commenter has experienced, perhaps, it is not a common experience has I have been here a few times without incident.

This was one of the weirdest dining experiences we've ever had. Wife was not feeling well, so we ordered some congee for her (chicken soup equivalent for the Chinese). They have two different menus - in Chinese and in English. We were presented with the English menu first but on perusal, we asked whether they had a different menu in Chinese because we knew that they did serve congee.

The menu items on the Chinese and English menus are different. Of course this makes it difficult for us to order (as we cannot read Chinese even though we are Chinese and still want the traditional Chinese dishes like congee). We also order bread sticks, rice, pork spare ribs and a couple of steamed scallops with ginger and shallot. The food was very average.

The strange part occurred when it came to paying the bill. We asked for the bill, and noted that they had rounded up the bread sticks. It was supposed to be $2.80 and they charged us $3. We let it go, since it's only 20c. The total bill came to $44. Because it was less than $50, they did not accept credit so we paid with a $50 note.

The change came back as $5.40. So we were short changed 60c as well as overcharged by 20c. Because it was only 80c all up, we couldn't be bothered saying anything. But on a matter of principle, we felt that it was wrong. It would appear they had already tipped themselves! It was just plain weird. Not recommended at all.
