My family and I visited Huntley's Cafe this morning to celebrate my elderly mother's birthday.

The food was nice (albeit quite pricey) but my party and I were 'blown away' by the rude, impatient, terse (I could go on) service we received from a senior waitstaff member, who, from the look of previous reviews, continues to hold a position at this cafe, for which she is entirely ill-suited. She made us all feel very uncomfortable, which significantly reduced our enjoyment of the occasion.

The other staff member - whom I believe may have been the manager or owner was delightful but sadly we won't be risking another encounter with 'the grouch' so won't be returning. This lady must be impacting your return business Huntleys Cafe!

Fantastic food that obviously is prepared from the best and freshest produce and then crafted into sumptuous meals. I recommend the schnitzel to anyone - best anywhere! Service very friendly and professional. I've always believed you pay for quality and I have no issue paying a little bit more when the quality is there. Great place to eat on the deck in the sun on a cool winters day!

I'm very surprised as to why this restaurant has had such low ratings. Seafood Chowder, Panko Crusted John Dory with a mild wasabi mayonnaise, Rack of Lamb, Crepes were all well enjoyed. Tables well spaced makes conversation easier, easy parking, owner very pleasant, nice ambience.

Some improvement might be gained by: cooking vegetables a tad longer. Also the Raspberry and Almond tart had too much cinnamon and was probably a tad overcooked. Cost for 3 courses and coffee and corkage averaged $75/per person so a bit too pricy for many I think. Also they should check that they have paper towels in the bathroom and fix the loud squeak on the door to get to the bathroom.

$6 for one slice of raisin toast out of a packet, this place has no idea. The location is pleasant but the waitress was pretty clueless and the senior staff rude. Never again.

Went for breakfast recently and whilst the food was OK the cost compared to other cafes was high. Nice spot for kids to run around on the grass below !

I have had a few 'lunches' at Huntley's Cove Cafe as my Mum lives locally. Every lunch was tasteless. I also had the unfortunate experience of having Christmas lunch. We had to preorder (which is no drama), however, the food was so dry and disgusting. Basically, they can't cook. It is a great spot and the place would be packed if they had someone who could even put out average food.

Shockingly bad service, stodgy menu for the over 80's crowd and ordinary coffee. Go elsewhere for better value and quality food.

Last Friday was my 3rd evening at Huntley's Cafe and I'll keep going back. The senior staff remembers my name and made us feel very special. The setting is very impressive and I've thoroughly enjoyed dining on the deck overlooking a delightful parkon a warm evening. I can recommend the John Dory and the pork knuckle (an Austrian specialty!). The home-made cakes and icecream are scrumptious. Good value for money.

I have been going to Huntleys Cafe for the last five years and the food and service has always been consistently good. I had my daughter's engagement function and had a fabulous meal and tables were beautifully decorated combined with excellent service from the staff and management.

Huntleys Cafe was a great find as it is open for lunch and dinner as well as breakfast on week ends. It is away from traffic and has lots of parking so there is no hassle with meters or parking stations. I like the location as it has a very pleasant outlook. The chef, who we met, uses fresh ingredients and has made some unique dishes which were delicious.

There is a good but not expensive wine and beer list. Overall the cost was average and not excessive. Service was just about right on timing-wise as we were not rushed but also did not have to wait. I would recommend it to my friends and suggest you give Huntleys a try.
