Great yum cha destination. The food comes thick and fast, variety is good and the quality is high.

Also quite good as a evening destination. The menu is long, and there's a good mix of chinese staples and a few left field options. Again the quality is good.

Admittedly the place is a bit run down and scruffy, but hey, you're in Marrickville. And the service is great.

Exactly what you want from Yum Cha. Busy, high turnover and efficient staff.

We came here for the first time. A few dishes are quite good but others were a bit of hit and miss. Service was friendly and nice to have in a Chinese restaurant. Staff were polite and "smiley". I run to book a table and the person that picked up the phone was nice too. Fried chicken wings were tasty and crispy. The infusion of the taste of fried onions that were sprinkled on top of the fried chicken made the taste interesting.

Whilst the dough of pork bun was fluffy and has the right texture, it didn't have enough roasted pork. Prawn dumpling was not that great as it was not as fresh as I'd have expected. The steamed glutinous rice wrapped with lotus should have more ingredients inside. Still tasted good though as the rice was soft and tasty. I also tried tofu rolls which was a mixture of chopped up prawns and pork wrapped into rolls with tofu sheets. It was quite nice but I like the braised version better.

We had 3 dessert dishes - egg tarts and steamed tofu with sweet syrup (also known as "tofu far"). The egg tarts were great, silky smooth steamed egg surrounded by fluffy layers of pastry. I think it was one of the best egg tarts that I've tasted. The steamed tofu with sweet syrup was silky, smooth, soft and light. The texture was just right and done to perfection!

Lastly the deep fried glutinous rice ball coated with sesame, with red beans paste filling. Again, it didn't have enough ingredients inside. I took a huge bite into the fried ball and still could not reach the fillings!

A few hit and misses but the rest was good. The bill came up to be $67 for 2 adults and 2 kids which I think wasn't cheap.

Hung Cheung Restaurant seems to be the place to go for inner west yum cha these days. We ate there for the first time last Sunday. Arriving around 10 am we score a table for two with no hassles.

The food came around in very quick successions (it gets a bit too much at times, because as you're trying to eat the waiters keep asking you if you want more food, gets annoying having to keep saying no all the time).

The food in general is good and the variety is there. The flavours are authentic and as you would expect at a yum cha. The restaurant got very busy around 11 am when everyone seems to converge "en mass". It can get crowded and noisy so be warned.

We has about 6 to 8 dishes that morning and the bill came to about $40 which was pretty good.

We had saturday morning yum cha here in a small group, and really enjoyed the food.

We tried probably half of the dishes, including various steamed and fried dumplings, pork buns, filled rice noodles, greens, and the mango pancakes. The spring rolls were great, as were the prawn filled rice noodles.

All the food tasted fresh and good quality, we missed out on some great looking dishes that came out when we were full like king prawns and elaborate looking money bags, so will be back.

It came to about $20 each, we were totally stuffed. The ambience is that of a good old traditional slightly dodgy looking chinese, full of fish tanks and bad decor, but it's great.

Service was pretty good, loads of staff and plenty of opportunity to get a wide range of dishes, but the language barrier made it difficult to work out what was what with some staff.

We've been coming here for a while now and it never dissapoint us. Although the waiters lack a bit of english, the food was the star of the night. We started with the Singaporean crab. Luscious swirls of noodles with the sweet tomato sauce complimented the crab perfectly. Next was the salt and pepper prawns. Crisp and delectable it was a winner at the table. Finally it was the seafood hotpot. With fresh seafood, tofu and lettuce this dish was to die for. Having an abundant amount of choices to choose from, this restaurant must be given a visit to.

Have been going here for years and the food is so good and consistent. We went last night and started with the salt and pepper chicken wings, what a great start. Then to the boneless duck with yam then french beans with XO sauce. The servings were large and perfectly cooked. The service is quick and friendly. The decor is fairly ordinary but with a meal like that at those prices who's complaining.

This is a typical chinese place. I didn't find the food that great. The Congee is the most expensive I have ever tried. Don't recommended to anyone at all. I can suggest better chinese restaurant out there. The toilet was very dirty!

Went for yum cha on a Saturday and was pleasantly surprised. Usually I stick to yum cha places that I know are good, rather than trying new places and being disappointed but no disappointment here.

The staff have an uncanny knack of having all the 'favourites' available whenever you want them. Definitely the smoothest yum cha experience I've had in a long time. At $20 a head it wasn't as cheap as I'd like for yum cha but I'm not sure if I can compare fairly, because I think we may have kept eating for longer than usual!

Sunday lunch yum cha. Yes there is a queue but we didn't wait as long as I expected. Service was blistering fast and the food fantastic, except for the pork buns being a little chewy. I eat a lot and the bill was reasonably cheap, this joint is on my places to go list from now on.
