I recently went to Hotel Clarendon for a farewell function for a Canadian work colleague. The food and service were fantastic and the management went to great length to ensure we all had a great time. Even got some Canadian Beer in for the afternoon. Everyone in my group loved it and we'll be going back. Thanks to everyone at the pub!
Can't beat the Clarendon for it's all day, everyday $10 menu!! Makes Friday work lunches fun and affordable. It's a popular place so it fills up fast with walk-in and they might be slightly understaffed so don't expect a quick lunch but worth the wait. If they only have a table outside available don't worry about the cold. The gas heaters pump out some super warm heat! Friendly staff and licencee!! Been several times in two months for work so we're happy!
I have been coming here often lately because it's just around the corner from work. The food is great, with interesting specials & the pub grub style food is also really good. My vegetarian colleague swears by the vege burgers. I took the boyfriend here for lunch yesterday & he raved about it. He had the special of the crackly pork belly & I had the special of the lamb rack - they were both oustanding dishes - cooked to perfection.
The service is attentive & friendly and the wine selection isn't too bad. My only criticism would be that they could put in a few more "by the glass" selections. Other than that - I like this place a lot & always look forward to coming here.
This is my local, and the guys and girls that run and operate it are all legends. The fitout is a little bit souless, but on a summer's day with the windows open it has a nice airy feel, and the couches upstairs are a nice spot. The menu is great, long and interesting. The food is of good quality for pub food. Drinks are reasonably priced, and they finally updated the taps to include coopers amongst others.
They are always accommodating when you ask for the music on/off, the sport on/off, and there seems to be always be space to find a comfy spot. They are getting really popular on some nights as word gets around, they deserve it.
Newly renovated and still building a crowd, it's a great place for after work drinks. Really good cocktails (fruit margherita hit the spot for me!). From the menu, I've only tried the bar snacks (yummy chicken wings, Salt 'n' pepper squid, char-grilled calamari), as well as their pizzas, which make for great shared snacks.
Upstairs is a great undiscovered cocktail bar (and dining area). I like it a lot!
