I've been to Horizons a 7-10 times in the last 18 months, usually for the Sunday Roast, and until recently thought it was pretty good. Until recently it included soup, a choice of roast from several meats (lamb, pork, etc.), and dessert. Even Father's Day this year had this roast special, though we noticed the food wasn't of the same quality as the last time we went. In addition to Sunday roast special, they had a regular menu which included entrees, salads, other main options including a fish of the day.

About 6 weeks ago we went to Horizons and were sad to find you no longer get a choice for the roast and they have significantly reduced the menu in terms of options and quality. My family members who had the roast said the beef itself was nice, but the soup bland and dessert worse (like no crumble we'd ever seen, not very tasty, and served with bright pink artificial strawberry ice cream, unlike the vanilla usually served with a crumble).

I had the grilled chicken, which was the driest I've ever tasted. One of my nephews had the children's portion and barely touched it. My other nephew had the curry, and enjoyed it.

Worse than the food was the service, which was truly the worst I recall experiencing in a restaurant. I don't know if they were short on wait and kitchen staff, but there didn't seem to be a floor manager, young (teen) servers, and the kitchen was extremely slow (especially given the meals we ordered). The servers were pleasant, but drinks were never refilled, we had to flag someone down anytime we needed something, and the wait was excruciating.

Worse, the mains and desserts were not all brought out together and in each case, they brought the children's several minutes after the adults. One of my nephews was in tears he was so hungry by the time his meal arrived.

In addition, they normally have live entertainment on Sunday. They had advertised it for this day, but there was none. I don't know if they're trying to cut costs, but with the quality of food and service on offer and lack of advertised entertainment, I'd imagine they're losing business.

To top it off, I sent feedback via their website and never received a response. As a member of the club, I was even more disappointed by the lack of customer service towards members. I won't be back.

Went there on a saturday for a few drink with some friends, we ended up deciding to have dinner in the Horizons restuarant. The restaurant had superb views of the city. The service was excellent. The menu boasts some very interesting dishes and all were very tempting.

I had the salt and pepper squid as an entree, it was the best salt and pepper squid I have ever had. As a main I chose the rack of lamb which was cooked to perfection. The waiter was most helpful and charismatic informed me there was a new menu coming out as a new head chef has started.

Looking forward to going back for a cocktail and dinner. Defintely recommend.
