Had take-out from Himalaya last week, was tremendously happy with everything. Food was great, generous servings, and good value for money. Only problem is their website needs to be updated (It lists their previous address).

Otherwise very satisfactory, having recently moved into the area, I was looking for a new Indian, and will be returning soon.

We moved to the area recently and were looking to satisfy my partner's very fussy indian food obsession. The prices are unbeatable, $2.50 for a delicious salad, the chicken tikka is perfect and the butter chicken is yum. My partner is happy because they home deliver to us but there's always the discount for take away too. No i'm not fussed on eating in due to the decor but hey, that doesn't bother me when we live closeby!

Ordered a Beef Sagwala and Lamb Dopiaza for takeaway. Both meats were tender and the sauces were surprisingly good. I could understand why the ambience score is low as it does need some work. Only one table at 7.20 pm on a Saturday night. Maybe most of their trade is done via t/a or delivery. Whatever it is, the food is good and I'd order from there again definitely.

Update:
Unfortunately after eating the dish I appeared to have a bit of an overload of something that can sometimes be used to enhance the flavour of food. Felt terribly bloated and couldn't sleep. I hate to say but I'll not be able to go back. Reduced my food score to 6 as it's still nice and other people may not have a reaction. From the other reviews it seems this may be the case, but this is just my experience.

Visited this restaurant recently. It appears to have a good family atmosphere. The service is excellent, easily the best ever experienced. Just make sure to request 'no spice' in the food as it can be very spicy, we discovered. Luckily the manager gave me a small dessert (rice pudding) for free, so my mouth wasn't blowing fire! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Having eaten indian all over the eastern suburbs, the inner city and india itself, since moving to sydney's south we've become huge fans of Himalaya. The food and value is second to none, although we can't comment on the decor as we've never actually eaten in the restaurant itself. The dinner for two is actually a delicous dinner and lunch for two. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Ate here on Saturday night. The entrees were ok. The mains were quite good, the lamb sagwala and butter chicken were the stand outs. I thought the beef vindaloo had too much of a pepper flavor. The service was good though it took some time to get the bill. Overall, it's good value for money. I've had better Indian but at a higher cost, so it's a balancing act I suppose.

Back for the third visit in 3 weeks last night. This is a place I had walked past many times, until it was recommended by a friend. The food here is absolutely delicious. I don't know if it is the Pakistani influence, but it is unlike any Indian food I have tasted previously. Portions are generous & the staff most accommodating.

The music is horrible, but my companions have all vowed to return. Banquet for 4 is just over $30.00 each for 4 Entrees 4 Mains, Naan bread, condiments & Dessert. Dinner for 2 is under $30.00 Each for 3 Entrees, 3 Mains & the rest. A doggy style bag was required on each occasion. This is good food well presented @ great value.
