This is a great night out with live entertainment and dancing. The food is great and continues to come out all night. Service could be a little better but life is not perfect. I bought Scoopon coupons and the value for money was excellent. You left there very content.

This has got to be the Worst customer service I have ever experienced in a long time. I bought a Scoopon voucher for this particular restaurant and made an email booking as indicated in their fine print. 5 days passed, and I did not get a response so I decided to give them a call to ask what is going on. Upon ringing the restaurant’s number on the 27th Feb, I was greeted with a lazy ‘hello’ on the other end. I had to ask if I called up hermitage restaurant because it almost felt like I called a home, not a restaurant!

When I explained the whole situation to the waiter and said that it has almost been a week since I placed the email, he snapped back at me and said it ‘could not have possibly been one week because the coupon was released on the 22nd Feb’. The waiter then demanded that I provide details of when I sent my email and just went silent waiting for my response. He offered no options, or solutions, and his foul attitude made this situation even worse.

He later told me there was nothing he can do because the coupon says its email bookings only and there are 500 emails in the restaurant’s inbox and needs to be cleared before he can get to my booking.

While I am more than happy to make this booking via email, isn’t this system almost counterproductive? If the restaurant does not go through the emails in time, then no bookings are made and even more people will call up asking what is going on! At this point in time in making this review, it has well and truly been one week, and they have not confirmed my booking yet.

While I’m happy that I was able to purchase such a great coupon at such an incredible price, the service which I received made me almost wish I did not even buy it at all. I haven’t even visited this restaurant yet, and it has already left a bitter taste to my mouth. I will amend my review when I visit the restaurant but at this point in time, this restaurant has been a terrible disappointment to me and I will not be returning.

Update: 3 months has passed and I have sent 9 emails for a simple booking arrangement and received replies 2 weeks after saying they are booked out each time. Never have I had so much difficulty acquiring a booking for a restaurant of this calibre in my entire life. This restaurant should honestly be ashamed of themselves. In conclusion, this case was reviewed by Scoopon and was resolved.
