Having been to this restaurant numerous times, I felt compelled to write a review because my last two experiences here have been the same.

Our waitress was condescending to the point of table conversation. She couldn't muster a smile or acknowledge diners orders. The entrees took an hour after order which is unacceptable and was luke warm. The main, another 40 after entree. By the time main was served we were over it and not really hungry anymore.

This used to be a great place in Campbelltown, luckily theres been growth in the area and surrounds, which means there's also newer restaurants with more flair and personality. Won't return or recommend.

What a little gem! This restaurant is in an obscure location but it is absolutely fantastic. Four of us ate there and we all loved the food. We each had 2 courses and every single plate was amazing. We will definitely be making this restaurnat one of our regulars!

We found the food and service first rate, it was the complete dining experience! The restaurant itself was beautifully presented as was the food. All ingredients were top notch, we couldn't have asked for better. Each dish was perfect and the coffee was really good too. The portions are not huge, but we felt surprisingly replete after 3 courses. The staff were attentive and the food came to our table quickly. We were also impressed by the wine list. This first class restaurant is our new favourite :)

What a great restaurant tucked away in an industrial cul de sac. Ambience was lovely, service terrific and the food was extremely good. Three of us had three courses for about $60 each including drinks. Fantastic. Will be back.

Went here for a special occasion and we had a really lovely night. The staff were attentive, the menu was fantastic (my steak was a tad on the tough side but still very nice) and the ambience was calming, friendly and inviting. I highly recommend the Hermitage - classy and a great dining experience.

I have had the great opportunity to travel this amazing world and eat in some great cities at some great establishments. It is one of those pleasant moments in life when you stumble onto something amazing when and where you would least expect. The Hermitage is one such restaurant, nestled away in a quiet street in Campbelltown everything about it forges world beater. The entire restaurant is built with beautiful sandstone making you feel instantly relaxed, like you are eating at someones beautiful home, it is so welcoming you feel like you have been there before.

The ambience is perfect and the service the same. With this build up you might expect the food to be a little average, rest assured it only gets better from here. I tried the double baked swiss cheese and leek souffle as an entree. Can I just say everyone in their lifetime needs to try this dish, I had never had something like this before, but every mouthful melts in your mouth infused with the delicate flavors used to make it the exceptional dish it is.

For the main I had the slow roasted duckling, this was just beautiful. I can't explain it any better than that, other than its just perfect, if you want to try duck the way it should be enjoyed, this is it. For dessert I finished with the Gateau Mont Blanc, again it was presented perfectly and tasted even better, it was clear that each dish was prepared and presented with as much care, dedication and passion and commitment to great taste as was possible.

On the occasions I find myself in Campbelltown and the occasions I want to ensure I can take friends out for an exquisite and enjoyable meal, The Hermitage will be that place. I can't wait to keep work down the menu. In anything we come across in life it is clear when you are presented with a product that has the utmost pride and care provided to it, you are in for something special. It is clear that this philosophy is the cornerstone to The Hermitage's success, forget Sydney, New York, London, Paris or Hong Hong, the best of the best in at The Hermitage. Do yourself a favor, eat there soon. Amber.

I'd stayed at the Hermitage and eaten in the Restaurant about 18 months previous to our current visit and was very impressed then. Nothing has changed, the decor was still as good as before, the food was excellent, and the service impeccable. A little pricey, but we had a very enjoyable dining experience.

I have been here on a number of special occasions and always find it very upmarket in a country club way. Enough time is given between meals to savour each course and the wine list is fabulous. Our international guests are always impressed.

I went there with my parents and they had the seafood pot and the duck and they loved it. My mother ordered the duck and she said the duck was really nice and not dry at all, I tasted it as well and couldn't agree more. The seafood pot was full of beautiful fresh seafood and the sauce was spot on. I had the pork was so good that if I had have had room for more I would have ordered another serving.

For entree we had salt and pepper squid and a selection of fresh oysters. The soy mirin oysters were the favourite of the night and we even asked for the recipe. All servings were generous portions and everything was presented well! All food arrived at the table quickly and we never felt rushed to order. We have been back several times since and have never been left disappointed!

This place has been difficult to rate. The ambience and look of the restaurant is really nice, a great place to sit in and eat whilst it's winter. We went with a table of four, within 5 minutes we were approached 3 times for dinner and drink orders. I felt rushed then and all through the night, that was a little disappointing, I had not experienced that at the Hermitage before. I loved my meal, cheesey gnocchi, was really tasty.

However, the other 3 people with me were still slightly hungry after their main (and we had bread as entree). The let down is that this place has slowly changed over the past year or so, portions are smaller and price is high. No one minds paying good money for a good meal and great service, but I can't say we really got that.
