We had dinner on the weekend, the food was average, the ambience was quiet, service and value was ok. But I don't think I will go there again.

I tried this place long ago, almost 10 years ago with my family and love it when my old hospitality teacher used to run the joint. Seeing it under new management with a new touch on it's exterior after so many years, I was hesitant to try it again. I'm am glad to say that I'm happy I came back.
A good friend and I were warmly greeted by Jane and taken to our our table through the blue hue coming from the bar. Dim lights with candles made for a private yet homely atmosphere.
Shortly after ordering, we received a little garlic bread. Mama bear and I started off with the Clam chowder in a bread roll ($8.80) and the Octopus with garlic and chilli oil ($12.80). Immediately, we were blown away with the tenderness and tastiness of the Octopus. I loved the way that they used garlic chips to add to the texture of the salad. The clam chowder was nice, however, I can't say that I have actually tasted clam chowder before, so room for a comparison was not present. Either way, it came to our table piping hot and we devoured that (including the bread casing) We were so excited to get the mains.
Ordered the Roast rack of lamb with mushroom sauce, mash and veggies ($25.80) and Grilled Tasmanian Salmon Fillet with white wine dill sauce and veggies ($22.80) Both the dishes came with carrot and brocolli, just the right amount to go with the mash potato. Lamb was cooked perfectly to order (med rare-med) and extremely succulent. Salmon and sauce went together well indeed. We were both extremely pleased with quantity and quality. Of course there had to be room for dessert.
We wanted to try their apple struddel with ice cream, but we weren't able to as they didn't have it so we settled for the banana puff with ice cream to share($7.50). Simple dessert: light, crispy and just the right touch to end our meal.
Total price for the night was $82, including two drinks. I find this very reasonable for a perfect dinner. Service was good: helpful, attentive, but not intrusive. We were given a lot of space and they brought everything out to us in a most timely manner.
All in all: a most pleasant experience. The only suggestions I would have:
a) As mentioned in a previous review, get rid of the TV, was lucky not to have been seated near it, but I know had I been I would have been distracted
b) A little more lighting would have been nice. Candles are a romantic touch, but could have done with an a little more wattage
c) I did ask for a decaf coffee, but they did not have this. Good investment for dinner service as well as for those who aren't able to drink it eg pregnant ladies
Apart from that, I can't fault the food...It was good honest homely food that I will be introducing to my family and closest friends. We were already talking about who we should take back the minute we finished out meals. Check out the photos I've attached. It will give those interested in giving Heritage a go a better idea of what to expect. Keep it up, Heritage. You can be guaranteed that I will be bringing more people your way to try out what you have to offer.

I bought a deal for this place and was somewhat disappointed. Many years ago I came here and it was great, this time round I thought it average. The fusion of the food does not quite hit the mark and the servings are quite small, the supposedly 5 course meal was a soup, 2 scallops and a surf and turf style plate for 2 with 2 small steaks and 2 small fillets of fish with chips. The dessert was just a small bit of pastry. Not such a great deal really.

My husband and I bought a voucher from Deals.com for this Restaurant. We were so delighted by the service and food, we cannot wait to go again.
It was a five course meal with wine included Everything was delicious, you Must try the broccoli soup to die for, and the baked scallops..yummmmmm but what we really loved the most was, we were told that there was grilled perch and beef mignon for mains, what was great about this was, they both came on a very well presented large plate, four juicy, tender mignons on a bed of mash alongside two large succulent grilled perch on a bed of (I think) home made chips, with perfectly cooked veggies, and sauces to accompany both dishes. We had a light sweet to finish.
Would I go again...too right. Was the price right..too right. Let downs...the white sauce for the fish was very bland and just tasted of flour, disappointing as everything else was lovely. But the biggest letdown I have to say would have to be the Huge Tv they have stuck in the middle of this lovely contemporary dining room?
Why? My husband got annoyed as my eyes kept wandering to the tv lol I could not help it, it was in my face. Heritage, you have a great restaurant with great
food, get rid of the tv.

Lovely dining experience in a cosy setting. The crab soup was delicate but still flavoursome. The king prawns were very good too. The service was polite and friendly. We liked this place lots and will return in the near future.

This is the 4th time we have been and it is a great experience. The scallops on kiwi fruit were absolutely stunning. I haven't seen anything like this before! Plump, perfectly cooked and oh so tasty. We both had steak, a giant T-Bone cooked med-rare to perfection, a new york cut also to prefection. Both tender tasty with delicate sauces.
For dessert we had home made apple strudle, absolute yum. And banana puff cake. Wow, never seen or heard of this before. Almost like a light puff pastry with banana inside. Moderate prices for food and drinks. We can't speak too highly for The Heritage!

I remember a good few years back, they used to be a traditional chinese restaurant, it was good back then. Came across this place when my mates decided to come here for dinner, that's when I realised it's not what I think it was.
The management really put some thoughts in and tried turning it into something closer to a fine dining atmosphere. However, it went terribly wrong when you see disposable paper tablecloth.
Food wise, the salt and pepper squid was one of the worst that I've ever had. While the chicken on the caesar salad was the only thing left behind. Simply too dry.
Price wise, similar to what you would pay for in another cafes. Wouldn't say the food is bad, but only average, I would rather have an extra 15 min drive down to brighton le sand or down south to cronulla for something better. When I first got into the restaurant, I was trying to clarify something in my head, what kind of restaurant is this? Def not a take away store, something better than a cafe with the atmosphere, definitely far from fine dinning with the food and noisy customers. Prob won't recommend it.

Saw the reviews on here and thought we would give this restaurant a go as the reviews didn't look too bad, unfortunately, they were horribly wrong. The ambience was nice and the restaurant was quaint little house, however, the only problem was the food.
The service was good up until the point where when we told the waiter that the meat was not done medium but medium rare he insisted that it was the chinese style. He didn't bargain on the fact that I was chinese and knew there was no such thing as a medium chinese steak as Chinese people like their meat well done. This was bloody and rare and definitely not medium.
The lemon Souffle was the highlight of the night, however, if you want value for money you're better off buying just the desserts as the mains for what they are are overrated, overpriced and really not that tasty.
I know I sound cynical, but for the high pricing and the high reviews I was expecting greater things from this restaurant. Wouldn't go there again.

I've lived in the suburb for many years, and would not have known about this restaurant had it not been for these reviews. Set on a suburban st, a house renovated into a restaurant, it was quite a surprise when I walked in. It is modernly and pleasantly furnished and the service is great. Described as being international cuisine, this is certainly true as where else can you have baked snails in cheese gratin followed by hainanese chicken.
Both dishes were good but not outstanding, and because this is a fusion asian restaurant, do not expect to be able to compare it to a fine dining french restaurant for example. This place is very similar to Excelsior in Kogarah although I find this place slightly higher in terms of quality. For an entree and main, expect to pay around $35 which is extremely reasonably, and not to mention filling. I will be back.

My crab soup did not have any crab, only crab stick and was overthicked. The caesar salad did not have caesar dressing, only very nasty praise style supermarket mayonnaise. My friends salmon was overcooked and dry. We did not finish any of our dishes and nobody asked us why.
