I love going to Hemmesphere after a nice dinner to relax in a great atmosphere and have a great cocktail or night cap. I recently decided to organise my birthday drinks there for about 20 people. The staff helping me with the booking were very helpful and we got a couple of great corner couches and were very comfortable and had a fabulous time.
I wanted some nibblies as well and the staff organised Sushi platters from Sushi e which were delicious and a very substantial amount. The cocktails may be pricey but the list is fabulous and I think worth it. Not only will I keep going back but may even have my next birthday drinks there!
Great surroundings and drinks list (although pricey). A shame that our unfinished bottle of French champagne was 'thrown out' while we were smoking in the court yard (we had previously informed the waitress of our whereabouts). The vague, yet polite waitress explained that she thought we had left and had therefore disposed of our bottle. Strangely enough when we looked over at the reception area, staff were drinking champagne. Expensive tastes...
Ridiculously overpriced drinks, snobby staff trying so hard to be....cool? They need some real lessons. Its so pretentious, but I guess its full of pretenders so it made its mark on the wannabe crowd.
We had 8 people with our group, the last 2 arrived a little late, experienced massive problems gaining entry (after we had spent over $1800 on the bar tab) the door staff ruin the relaxed feel of the place. Too much attitude, the interior is beautiful, beverage menu is fairly pricy, but happy to pay. We will never go back due to the door staff. I have never experienced any problems with security at any venue, Hemmesphere have some issues they need to resolve.
This is the place to go to relax with friends and chat without having to scream to get over the music. Smooth tunes play and the wait staff are attentive. Cocktail and drink list are great (but expensive) as is the food menu (even more expensive but even yummier!). This place isn't for mingling but for private parties.
Hmm bit boring with lounge music blaring. Pretty Hired guns (waitresses) float around with pouting lips waiting to pounce on a guy with the right combo of money (lots) and looks. Cocktails are nice though overpriced. The door guys should also relax and let more people in to give it more atmosphere. One visit is usually enough..
Frankly, this place can get a bit boring. There isn't much of a view and the DJ music is a little lame. In terms of service...ha... it may not be perfect but at least it has table service, unlike some bars. Love the drinks selection though and the ability to keep a tab for the night - bring your credit card. Great for a laidback night out with boyfriend or partner. Might be a bit boring if you are in a group wanting to dance the night away. If you don't want attitude from staff, book ahead. Don't say I didn't warn you.
I'll never give up those pre-party sushi (yummiest in Sydney) along with pleasant conversations; crowd is a bunch of wel-mannered men and pretentious wannabe girls (*smile*). Very relaxing; outstanding ambience; waitresses: ok; massage idea - v good (management: you CAN if you really try)
