Feedback/Review of Harvey Norman from a customer. I am a new customer of Harvey Norman and am going through extremely bad experiences with Harvey Norman’s product and their staff’s unprofessional behaviour. I purchased a laptop from Harvey Norman on 7th Nov 2010.
On the same day after reaching home, I realised that the laptop is faulty. Next day on 8th Nov 2010, I asked Harvey Norman for its exchange or return. Harvey Norman attending staff person said it’s sold now. It can’t be returned or exchanged. Such situation is extremely disappointing for any customer who has just spent money. Staff said that the laptop would go through warranty procedure now. That time they fixed the fault but a month later I faced the same issue again with the laptop.
I took the laptop again to Harvey Norman. They kept the laptop with them for few days but couldn’t replicate the problem. I took the laptop back to home but now after 6 months, I’m facing the same issue again. So, I took the laptop again to Harvey Norman for the 3rd time. This is really frustrating for a customer. I asked for its return or exchange. I gave the reason that it’s not customer’s fault that the problem exists from the day 1.
Attending staff person said this can’t be done as per Harvey Norman policy. I asked to show Harvey Norman policy. He said he would not show any policy. He said he can book the laptop and send it to the company for a fix. I asked how much time will it take? He said he can’t commit. I asked for a standby laptop during that period. I gave the reason that it’s not customer’s fault that the laptop is faulty then why should a customer suffer and live without a laptop for an unknown/uncommitted period.
He said this can’t be done as per Harvey Norman policy. I asked what would happen if you fix it now again the same issue comes again after warranty period? He said I can’t guarantee anything for future. I asked for a feedback form. He said Harvey Norman doesn’t have any process that the customer could give the feedback. I took the laptop back to home and it is still faulty.
I have got fed-up with Harvey Norman going there again and again, facing their staff’s insulting behaviour, come back home frustrated and live with a faulty laptop.
