Serving 12 taps of Australian Craft beer.
There is only one “Hart” of the Rocks and this pub will pound to a new beat from February 2010. Harts is now under the new management of Rocks Brewing Company, who aim to maintain the heritage listed history of this quaint pub.
Of course no Sydney pub is complete without a beer garden, and Harts will not disappoint. It is surrounded by beautiful sandstone and from time to time the presence of celebrity chefs teaching Sydney’s blokes how to get the most from their backyard burners, of course with the obligatory beer in hand.
Regardless of whether you are a beer connoisseur king or queen, Harts is where you will find a great local pub, regularly delivering new craft beers to enjoy with friends, family or colleagues. The staff is highly knowledgeable and will happily introduce newcomers with one of the sample paddles. Of course on offer are also Australian wines, champagne and bottled beers from across the globe. So grab colleagues, friends or family and head to the “Hart” of the Rocks and fulfill that soft spot in all beer lovers.

The food is overpriced for the quality that you get. I recommend you come for beverages but go elsewhere to eat. There is limited seating (3 booths) and bar stools all round.

Not sure really how to feel about the place. The beers on tap are amazing, but extremely overly pricy. For over $10 a schooner, I cant see how people can justify ordering several rounds here. Plus, from what I remember, the food used to be much better when they opened a couple years back. It used to have that gastro-pub feel to the menu, and had some really cool, unique little options. Now its just your stock standard boring pub menu, ie fish and chips and bland burgers. I was very dissapointed to see the direction this place has gone. For what they charge, I think it just makes more sense to go to one of the other 'generic' pubs in the area.

Had to to come for the cajun croc and 400 gram rib loin. The cajun croc, my first croc, tasted like chicken when warm, and when cold, tasted like reptilian mud brackish water. 24 hours later, I can still smell it in my breath! The rib loin was really nice, accompanied with onion rings.
The beers are the thing going for this place and the service is pretty good if a little distracted. The room was stuffy and too noisy, so not ideal for dinner really. Will I come back for a meal? No. Will I come back for beer? Yes.

Great beers and wines available. Good pub food. Decent portion sizes. Good atmosphere. Relaxing environment with plenty of space for sitting. Friendly service. Average pub prices. We enjoy visiting regularly.

Came here mid-week after work with a bunch of colleagues.
Food was traditional pub fare - so nothing flash but hearty and filling.
Plenty of wines and beers to keep all of us happy, and a great atmosphere.
Plenty of seating, and works for all ages!

Came here and found the dining experience all a bit average to be honest. Being tucked away in the heart of the city I was hoping to find a hidden gem. The food was ok, no outstanding dishes on the menu and service what you'd expect in a pub. Nice handy location, what a shame really.

The place is pretty cool like a rabbit warren with lots of rooms over two levels and an outside area, however, the over abundance of massive TV's playing sport (US Baseball?) to no one in particular in almost every part of the pub kills the vibe.
Went here on a Thursday evening to sample the house made beers of which only 2 of the '4 always on tap' were available so it was good to see they had been busy. Ordered the Wagyu burger and instead, had a bowl of wedges delivered to my table. I advised the waitress I had ordered a burger and was accused of having the wrong number on my table. Honestly. When my burger arrived it was raw in the middle, dripping blood onto the plate.
I didn't mind but others were put off by this. Apparently, I was supposed to request how I wanted my burger cooked as I did not request this, raw must be the default. I would return to try more beers as the several I tried were fabulous.

Came here for a late-ish dinner with my partner and close friend, and we were pleasantly surprised with some absolutely divine food. I had lamb, cooked just perfectly, with creamy mash potato (which was close to home-made) and a sort of salsa. My partner had a steak she couldn't praise enough, and my friend had a burger, he is a burger type guy, that he enjoyed. The food here is just top notch pub food. It is not cheap, however, you could easily spend a similar amount for far worse.
The staff were friendly and offered tastes of some of their tap beers. I really liked the ambience, It was comfortably set up, and had locals watching the footy in an adjacent room, but had a well fit out dining room too. You could hear a performer down stairs, and it was warm and cosy, informal yet pleasant to be in. We were treated well by the staff even though the kitchen was soon closing, and still got an excellent feed.
Definitely recommend this place.

We had a great meal here with the family- 2 adults and 2 kids. When the bar staff saw that we had kids with us they let us know that that children's meals were available. Ocean trout was spectacular, kids hamburgers gone in record time and hubby's steak cooked to perfection. With cider and great beers on tap, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff (even with the rugrats!) what more could you ask for?

I am a regular at Harts Pub and it is one of the friendliest places to go. It is not a Corporate pub where it is owned by a group and staff are nameless drones; since starting to frequent the pub some months ago I see the same courteous staff who know alot about the product being offered (food, beer and wine) and take time to have a chat when not to busy. It is nice to be on a first name basis with some of the staff and good to see the owners spending time out in the venue working with the bar staff.
I popped in this week to find the menu had changed and an Autumn menu in place. I had become quite addicted to the Lamb Chops and goats cheese skillet, but any worries were put to bed with the Karaage Chicken and Linguine Pomodoro. If anything the flavours have been simplified and work much better with the beers on offer. Food was delivered astonishingly quick, as was the same on Friday following when the fish and chip + pint combo was on the table before i got half way through the pint (and i aint no slow drinker). Apparently you have to be quick with the fish and chips, the chef told me later at lunch that they sell 5kg a lunch and this week in just under 90 minutes. Over all a great pub and one obviously not affected by the 'receivers and managers' blight currently sweeping alot of inner-city pubs come pokie dens.
