I ordered the spring rolls with vermicelli and the serving came out Massive, it could have easily fed two people with healthy appetites. Coming from a Vietnamese background, I can safely say their food is not authentic, however, the dishes represent okay value due to their size.

Service was fairly standard and I was completely put off by one of the senior staff staring at me and not even try to hide it - gross! I will not be coming back given the myriad of Vietnamese restaurants available in Marrickville and the rest of Sydney.

Ordered a crab soup noodle dish, ended up with extra flavours of two fat flies in the bowl. Disgusting! The waiters did not even apologise or refund. They really need to fix their hygiene standards here. No way will I be back nor recommend it.

Sigh, getting a bit fed up with places trying to pass them off as authentic food, and ruining the cuisine idea for the country.

The Banh Xeo was a large serving, not going to argue about that but it is definitely not authentic. Bamboo in banh xeo is not called for, I was craving it so much, especially when the crepe came out so hot and crispy but when it smelt like canned bamboo and off onions, fail. (and there was no mung Beans!)
The nuoc nam sauce has got to be one of the worst. I know how places dilute it with water, thin it out and everything, this didn’t taste thin, it tasted bad.

Salty (not fish sauce salty, like salt salty), with no vinegar/lemon fresh to it. It serves normal rice with porkchop, but for a Vietnamese restaurant that does not have broken rice deluxe, it can’t be that authentic.

Can’t really say much about the ambience, it’s not dirty, just very typical one-stop restaurant. However, when I go to a place like this, I expect good food.

This place has stolen us away from PHD down the road for a bit anyway, partly because the serves are bigger and partly because the bun cha (vermicilli noodle salad) is so good. Banh xeo (Vietnamese crepes) are called omelettes here, big and good!. I think this place is one of the best cheap eat deals in Sydney.

Excellent food, basic surroundings, basic service. Servings are large and you need to be careful not to over order. If you want a lovely Vietnamese meal this is the place.

The chicken is from free-range stocks and the deep fried spring roll "cha gio" with mince-pork, rice vermicelli and herbs. The pho has delicious and tasty soup and plenty of herbs and vegetables. Enjoyed every meal there.

I went to eat a rare beef Pho 2 weeks ago. It is very cheap and I enjoyed the soup even though I was bit uncomfortable of duty table and floor. As I like the soup and value of price, I went back to the shop again, but this time, taste was very different and there were lots of flies around everywhere!! they should clean the shop before they serve foods.

Another fine find in this Vietnamese heavy strip. While not exactly a date night kind of place, we thought they'd at least tried to inject a little colour and sense of the country who's cuisine you are enjoying. Being there at lunchtime, we only tried a few one-dish meals; the pancake was outstanding (and huge!), one of the best of its kind with a lovely crisp case enclosing a generous mix of sprouts, mung beans, pork & prawns.

The beef on vermicelli was humongous - not a stand out like the pancake but good enough. I would prefer a bit more spark in the accompanying sauce (the same one for each dish); found it a bit watery so supplemented it with extra fish sauce. This is a minor quibble; I now have several viable options for Vietnamese in Marrickville and will be torn now on which one to visit! Suspect it will be this one for pancakes, and the other one for pho or vermicelli salad.

Great Pho bo Tai, all I was looking for really. I love viet food and know my Pho, some of the comments here are kidding themselves, this place is a quick cheap feed if you want fine dining look elsewhere. I rate this Pho the best in Marrickville, and I have tried them all.

My wife and I discovered this place by chance 2 years ago and have eaten here dozens of times now and love the place. Funnily enough one of their photos of their food in the window first got our attention. We used to mainly get Pho's, their spring rolls which I love and their fried chicken on tomato rice. Since trying various dishes our overall favorites also include their seafood fried rice and another dish with stir fried chicken with vermicelli noodles and its in a big bowl not on a plate.

I love the laid back atmospehere and the lady who takes the orders always makes me laugh as half the time I think she's not listening and occasionally I have landed up with not quite what I had in mind when I ordered but thats how I discovered some of my favourite dishes and have never been disappointed.
