The authentic Korean food and atmosphere offered at Haemil reflect owner's passion for health, friends and good food. Haemil means â?~clear sky after the rainâ?®, which we believe will perfectly describe your frame of mind after Haemilâ?®s dishes.
Joshua Kwak, owner of the Haemil Korean Restaurant in Circular Quay, is a mixed bag of unexpected surprises â?" a bulky weight-training gourmand who plays classical piano and loves a bit of fun.

If you like or want to try Korean, and are looking to spend in the low 20's per main, this is a great place. It's a small restaurant but is well staffed, meaning the level of service and attendance is very good.
Plenty to choose from on the menu and the mains come with the standard assortment of korean sides and condiments. The food was tasty and the portions were good. Drinks menu is a bit sparse. I loved the live Piano music, really added something extra to the night.

We ate here for dinner on a not so busy Friday evening and we were greeted with lovely and friendly staff. The food was cooked quite well and the cold noodles were refreshing. We even had a pianist play a few songs while we dined! It's a small restaurant and although slightly expensive it's well worth the price if you enjoy the more intimate atmosphere and pretty decent Korean food.

Great Service, the owner and staff were really nice and friendly! The food is way over price. Food was descent but the beef rib was slightly on the tough side. If it wasn't because of the over price menu, I would definitely return.

Went there the other night and were the only ones there at first but we had a great time, the staff are friendly and had a good chat with the owner, an interesting guy. Food was excellent! Will definitely return!

My friends and I went there to for a birthday celebration. The food was good, I particularly enjoyed the dolsot bibimbap. The price is abit pricey but definitely worth it. The service was very warm, the owner played the piano and offered a glass of wine to the birthday boy which I felt was exceptional. It's located just opposite circular quay stn, very convenient and a great place to dine for all occasions!

I frequently go to the opera house for Concerts and Opera and find this restaurant excellent value by comparison with the other restaurants within the area. Staff and service very friendly. Food can be shared with a group or you can eat a single dish.
Food quality is fresh and ingredients close to authentic Korean. Highly recommend this restaurant for quick meal, good service and excellent food.

Decent Korean food right near Circular Quay, went there one night about 7 pm and were the only 2 in there so that was nice, slightly expensive, food was pretty good, ambience was great, nice lighting, music etc service was great, probably won't go again since it's a bit expensive and there are so many other places to try but if I find myself in CQ sometime soon and need a Korean fix I will go here!

Went here the other night and was very pleased. It's in a really pleasant, hidden away spot and the food was great.

At the risk of sounding naff, this is Korean food with soul and commitment, not because of the piano music, but because it has obviously been cooked with care and consideration for the freshest ingredients. The service is warm, sincere and not overbearing. Compared to the other tourist traps in the area, this is fantastic value. It takes a bit of searching to find, but it is worth the effort, the place is too good and the owners too deserving for it to be a 'secret' foodie destination!

So we were in the mood to try Korean food. We got a bit confused trying to find the place. Its quite hidden in the Circular Quay. When we got there the service was prompt and friendly. Our waitress was quite delightful. We ordered steam dumplings for entree, bulgogi, dolsot bibimbab for mains. Our mains came with sushi, ginger, kimchi, and some more little side stuff.
The bulgogi was absolutely delicious, the meat was tender and packed with marinated juices. We also loved the bibimbab, the vegetables were crisp and the meat wonderful. I wasn't too much a fan of the dumplings although they were okay.
But it was a cute little place with a grand middle smack in the middle and the host treated us to some wonderful piano playing. Definitely recommend!
