Had the dark hot chocolate and was very disappointed. It was obviously made up from some cheap hot chocolate powder and not the actual melted Guylian chocolate. Tasted gross and I felt sick after drinking it. Also, they charged $8 for it, so that made me even more mad. If I'm payin that much for a cup of hot chocolate, I would at least expect it to be made from authentic Guylian chocolate, which is why you'd go there in the first place. Otherwise, I could make better hot chocolate at home. Extremely unsatisfied.

Cakes were delicious as was the sparkling wine. Definitely overpriced but understandable given the location and view. Very poor customer service.

You'd be entitled to expect hot chocolate at Guylian Cafe to be made from Guylian chocolate, but no - it's dispensed from a popular commercial chocolate milk container, and frothed on a cappucino machine. The pastries were fine, but the quiche was microwaved, and $18 for cut fruit and chocolate sauce, the whole experience is a tad overpriced.

This place is completely overpriced. But I would go back for the chocolate shake. The waffles were tiny and not that great. I could do better at home. You can't fault the actual Belgian chocolate. It was gorgeous. I guess the over inflated price is for the location and view. I would go again but only if someone else was paying.

My friends went here for afternoon tea and I joined them for a cup of tea. A peppermint tea (with hardly any tea leaves at all!) cost $5.50 and only filled one small coffee cup. When I asked for a hot water refill I was informed that they charge for hot water! ridiculous!

Stopped in after watching a show at the opera house. Waited outside for a couple of minutes after seeing the "please allow us to seat you" sign. A waitress even walked right past us, not even saying excuse me. We seated ourselves. No menus were offered so I went up to the counter. I asked for menus from the same waitress who this time was busy talking to the girl behind the counter. She didn't look impressed.

The waffle is extremely overpriced for $17-18. One waffle that tasted like waffles you can get from coles, topped with one scoop of hazelnut ice cream and a small tub of chocolate. The only good thing here is the chocolate. The guylian milkshake was also overpriced at $11-12. Again, it's the belgian chocolate that sets this apart from other milkshakes, but not sure it's worth that much.

The male waiter that took our order was very friendly, although the same surly waitress came out and gave us the wrong order. No apologies, just walked away looking annoyed and flustered. The girl behind the till was marginally better, although it would have been nice if she had known what table we were at, considering the place is not very big and we were not seated very far from the counter.

Lots and lots to choose from. Too much if you love your sweets. We decided on a freeze cake (I think). It was a chocolate and raspberry cake, coated in white choc. It was ok, but for $12.50 (takeaway) I did expect more.

I suppose if they baked the meat pie instead of microwaving it into a soggy mess, and if they left it in the microwave for an extra 30 seconds it wouldn't have been frozen inside still, it might have been nice with the 3 lettuce leaves and 1/8 slice of tomato refered to as a "salad" on the menu. The desserts were also pretty ordinary for the exorbitant price. The staff were disinterested at best. Myself and my 2 guests will not go back... Guylian, stick to making chocolate not running cafes, your brand is sliding fast.

Service? What service? The ladies at the shop cannot crack a smile. I was getting some take away in a box and as she was putting the box in a carry bag, I asked if she could put a sticker on it. She looked at me with a look of exasperation and stuck a sticker on the top. I made a noise and she turned around and gave me a dirty look and said "what, what did you say?". I reiterated that I wanted a sticker on the side of the box so the lid wouldn't open as easily. Ouch - I thought chocolate is suppose to make girls smile. Glad to read the below reviews and know that I'm not the only one who received bad service!

What an amazing location! It was so lovely sitting outside overlooking the Harbour and enjoying a delicious hot chocolate and cake. The taste was amazing and the staff were very helpful! I definitely recommend Guylian Cafe! Can't beat it!
