100% Pure Pleasure
Gorgeous Belgian chocolate and Guylian praline layered with a delicate coffee sponge and rich pane cotta. This sophisticated dessert is finished with white chocolate swirl.

Their cakes and chocolates are excellent. Service is fine. The hot chocolate is good but the difference is only the solid shell they give you to go with it ie dark has a dark Guylian shell, milk ....... Etc. With the same liquid. I think Lindt is far better. Big cups, however, and very sweet. S nice place to sit and chat.

Have been here four times and have been disappointed each time: Ordered a chocolate cake which tasted of basil and garlic, they had obviously used the knife prior to cut a sandwich!

Another time I had an iced chocolate that was so sweet it made me feel sick, ditto with their hot chocolate. Service is pretty bad and it's way overpriced!
For a specialist chocolate cafe you would expect better!

Although you would expect that this cafe had primarily chocolate-based dishes (it has...), there are other things on the menu also. My favourites are the salads - the smoked salmon/avocado salad and the Vegetarian/Chunky Hummus salad. Both beautifully fresh and very good. I will be back just for that. The service is okay - these cafes tend to be very busy, so I suppose you can't blame the waiting staff for sometimes taking a little longer to get back to you. Overall, good - I will be back.

We had a bad experience at Guylain last night. I ordered 2 takeaway coffees (cost was almost $10) and decided to sit down briefly to drink them while my husband took a business call. There were several empty tables nearby and we didn't really think this would be an issue. However a very rude waitress told us to leave as we were apparently not allowed to sit down with paper cups. Even on explaining that it was just while my husband was on the phone she insisted in a very snotty, monotonic accent that paper cups were unacceptable. How rude! To be honest the service was a bit hit and miss before then and the coffee tasted burnt so I will definitely not be going back.

Mmmmmm Yum! I was a bit naughty and had 2 desserts. The Peanut milk choc cookie and the chocolate eclair. Both were so good. Best cookie I've ever had! Service needs a tune up though. We had a rude girl serve us which isn't nice when you are buying their product!

Stopped here with friends for a quick lunch and dessert. It was cosy and had good service but apart from the dessert, the food wasn't spectacular. I had the tuna baguette which was yummy but ordinary. For dessert I had the 100% pure pleasure. This was amazing. It was a panna cotta inside a chocolate mousse topped with edible gold dust. Dessert was the highlight but overall the experience was pretty ordinary.

The hazelnut chocolate hot chocolate is so delicious, have only tried this not the food, personally I would not come to a chocolate house to have anything but their specialty, well... Chocolate! This hot chocolate will not disappoint even to the most disconcerting connoisseurs! Mmm mmm mmm.

Stopped in here for a quick sunday lunch. We got a couple of the salads which were just what we felt like, simple but nothing spectacular.

Obviously this place has the desserts to satisfy a king, and whilst only getting a few chocolates im sure they are all great.

A little pricey, and we had 1 of our salads mixed up, but all was ok.

I am a regular at Guylian for their amazing coffee and fabulous service but I had to try their new pralines and cakes!

The lemon cheesecake tart is the most amazing thing I have ever tasted. Yum! I have gone back for two this week alone. And I always take a couple of the pralines back to the office. Such a hit!

The prices aren't the cheapest but the imported chocolates and hand crafted desserts make it all worth it. I recommend Guylian to everyone! Looking forward to trying the Circular Quay store as well.
