Who could say no to a chocolate café! They have a large range of cakes and sweets at reasonable prices (that is for a chocolate cafe in Darling Harbour). Drinks costs are fairly high though ($9.50 for iced chocolate). Atmosphere is lacking but the cakes are amazing! Wow Factor - Passion Temptation. Frown Factor - The extremely crunchy waffles.

Wife’s Hot chocolate was very nice but overpriced at $7.20. My Iced chocolate was also nice but cost an even more ridiculous $9.50. Why such a big price difference? Our friends cappuccino’s were average but still cost $4.50. Petite squares of chocolate were $1.75 each and not as nice as their main opposition a bit further up Darling Harbour. Chocolate éclairs were $6.50. Either their rent is killing them or they are making a killing themselves.

I wouldn't have minded so much about the bill except for the very poor experience of trying to pay the bill. I had thought it would be quicker if I took the money to the counter to pay. However, I was told by two staff that I needed to line up behind the line of new patrons (about 6 deep) who had not yet ordered.

So I went back to our table and gave the money and the bill to the waitress to process instead. This made no difference as she simply left my money with the same staff that were serving the line of new patrons. My payment was not processed until they had cleared the line up of new patrons, nearly 10 minutes later.

In my opinion, this was a display of very disappointing management procedure and not a consequence of lousy staff. Unfortunately, due to this experience and overpriced products, I can’t recommend and won’t be back.

Typical overpriced fare for a chocolate cafe. Their staff are mostly young international students who know absolutely nothing about customer service. Not recommended.

I walked in on Sunday afternoon to order a cup of cappucino. Nice ambience and they had quite a lot of seatings inside if you walk in a little from the front. I specially adore the cakes, chocolates and slices - all beautifully presented. Love the bubble centre-piece of lights in the middle of the cafe. While waiting for my coffee, my kid accidentally bumped himself and had a few tears. The staff was nice to offer a piece of chocolate to soothe him. The chocolate was like a like an antidote - he stopped crying instantly and returned with a cute smile. She was a star-cashier! Thanks for being consideration and sweet! The coffee was nice... and so was the rest of the afternoon!

Gets really busy on weekends so be prepared to wait in line for a table. A nice location for dessert after dinner with lovely ice cream and drinks. Prices for some items are a little high, but thats expected.

Chocolate and lots of it! How can you go wrong. I wish we had skipped dinner and just came here. We had some macaroons (not great), Pure Pleasure (exactly what the name says) and an Iced Mocha (one of the best we have had).

Its in a busy but nice location and the service we received from the bunch of young waiters could not be faulted. The prices you could say are a little high, but aren't most things in Darling Harbour. If you take a quick look inside you will be lured into pure heaven!

Tip: go easy on dinner so you can order more from here, it all looked great!

The overpriced iced coffee was only a minor issue compared to the "service" (or lack thereof) that we received from the young asian waitress who (after we had placed an order for one coffee and one milkshake) asked us repeatedly if that was All we were going to order. Apparently, paying 9.50 Each for an iced coffee was not enough for said waitress.

I also asked the waitress if there was icecream in the iced coffee to which I received a rude "of course". Not all iced coffees contain icecream and customers should not be subjected to rudeness when they ask basic questions.

Considering there were only 7 other customers in the cafe at the time, there was no excuse for her behaviour. We will definitely not be returning to Guylian due to this bad experience and will be taking our business to one of the numerous cafes in Sydney with friendly staff.
