Rude, slow service, busy talking for ages with other customers, arrogant slow service. I walk in get ignored, the wait ages for my coffee which I ordered before others who got their coffee first!
Best coffee in Sydney, very friendly staff. Cool cafe. You get what you pay for.
Only problem is it is sometimes hard to get a seat and I don't like sitting on top of strangers. But that minor inconvenience is usually solved within a few minutes and is far outweighed by the quality of the coffee. Whenever I am in the Shire, I get to Grind.
I personally think that Grind makes the best coffees around. They taste great, look great and are just the right temperature. These days, coffees aren't meant to be 'boiling hot'. They are meant to be warm. Also, Grind is a very social place. No matter when you go there you will most likely run into someone you know. "Escape the daily grind." - Couldn't have said it any clearer.
Coffee was good but lukewarm...and I'm not one of those who wants a burnt coffee but this was not nearly warm enough. Little bit pricy too...and too loud to read. I'd rather chill if I'm in Cronulla personally....and there is other places that do good coffee nearby. Having said all that the coffee was good - guess I should have got an espresso.
After I gave this place an average review due to lukewarm coffee and over-priced babycinos, I have revisited this place a few more times and can confirm that the coffees are around the best quality you'll find anywhere and they are served hot. It's still pricey though for a few takeaways, but great quality. The place buzzes and given the crowds, the owner must be making a fortune and good luck to him as this place puts many other wannabe cafe's to shame.
Its a Shire institution, and rightly so. Great coffee, fresh cakes, great atmosphere and the service is so refreshingly quick and polite given the popularity of the place and the generally poor service at most Cronulla cafes. If you visit Cronulla and you love coffee, this is the only place to go to get your caffeine fix.
I love this place. The coffee is the only reason I visit. The single and double espressos are among the best in Sydney and certainly in my top three places for regularly consistent, great tasting coffee.
I like the funky atmosphere and it is the perfect turn-around / half way point after a long cycle. Reminds me a lot of Europe with their small coffee shops / stands where you drop in, drop down an espresso or two and then are on your way in five minutes.
