Food 6 Ambience 9 Service 1 Value 4
Although I appreciate the concept behind this restaurant, I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant.
After waiting in the line for one hour, my friend and I waited for another hour and a half for our food to arrive after being seated. We were ravenous and had to resort to eating fruit that my friend had in her bag! I think after waiting so long, the staff should have offered us something small to snack on while we waited!
When the food finally arrived, we weren't overly impressed! I ordered wagyu beef, which just looked like normal veal (no fat through it) and extreamely tough, especially when cutting with their wooden knives. Also, it came with only one asparagus! (actually the vegetable wasn't asparagus but looked nearly the same. For the price I paid, I expect more generous servings!
So overall, the service was really bad, the food was okay but they were definitely stingy with what they put on the plate. I won't be visiting again!

Interesting concept, interesting place. There seems to be no booking ahead, first in, first serve. MY friend tells me this place is eco friendly and waste free.
The food is organic, and even grown on sight, but don't quote me on that. Menu is limited, but thats ok. The homemade lemonade or juice is way too sour for me, but my friends loved it. The chilli almonds werent chilli enough, there wasnt enough chilli powder on them, the oysters were nice, the salads tasted that much better, and the mullet (not the hair cut) was ok to me, but great to my friends.
Utensils come in wooden form, but we werent too sure, since we were sharing, whether we got wooden plates or boards to ourselves since we were sharing. We'll we we ate out of the jars instead (yes some of the food came out in jars, our drinks in jars) which we didn't mind.
Ambience wise, 3 levels, Top view is beautiful look over circular quay, looks like bar tables so not sure if people can eat up there, 2nd level is toilets (ladies, don't walk to the end of that level, urinals are here) and the toilets reminded me of Japan, after you flush, there are taps above the toilet which automatics switch on and off.
The bottom level is were we ate. Service was ok but hard to get staff at times, there are just busy. When we lined up, it took roughly 20 minutes to get a seat. Tables are small, but i didnt feel like I was squashed in between people.
Value wise, its not cheap and portions are small. The pizza is a small size, it wont fill you up. But it is organic though. I'm not sure how long they are staying here,my friend tells me its a portable venue and they'll move on. It's worth a look, just for the ambience but also the different taste sensation you will enjoy.
