I like the food but the lady literally counted the pieces of soy she was giving us, which was not much. So I ordered a bigger sized dish from the counter and she added two more pieces to my dish for an extra two dollars. A rip off and the food wasn't even hot. I'm desperate to eat good veggie food but am shocked at this place!
I'm not a Vegan myself and I generally avoid vegetarian food but the dishes we ordered at this vegetarian restaurant did not feel any inferior to their meatier dish equivalents. It's not a flashy place, but the the dishes are wonderfully fragrant. And it saved my bad mood from when I had minutes before stormed out of the neighbouring Thai restaurant due to bad food and bad/non-service.
I like this place, especially the eggplant dish and the tofu with pumpkin. I have never ordered off the menu, but I really do like the cheap dishes at the front of house.
Yes it does provide more than reasonable range of vegetarian fare, that is if you can stomach the level of service in here! I ordered "drunken noodles" which was so SPICY that I immediately developed a reaction/reflux from it. So more than half of the dish was untouched. When I informed the senior staff that the kitchen staff is a little heavy-handed with the chilli, she responded with a huge show-and-tell that I should not have ordered it etc etc.
Ah, ladies, ever heard of constructive feedback. My partner is mildly allergic to pepper and his wonton soup was practically a pepper party. When we brought that up, I could have sworn that the owner would chase us out. Piece de resistance: when we settled the bill, she stood there and checked every item on the bill to make sure that the food items we complained about Are On The Bill! Not coming back. What an experience.
I am an ethical vegetarian who longingly remembers the taste of meat. That said, the sausage salad here is just like chorizo! Loved it! We sat down and ordered, and my salad was great. My partner's noodle dish was huge and he was happy with it too. We'll be back!
This restaurant has the closest to authentic Thai food ( but with twice the sugar) that I have had in Australia. We had golden parcels as an entrée but were so sweet they could have been served as dessert. I would suggest that you order from the front food counter and eat at the tables as it is much cheaper that ordering from the menu and you can get a mix of dishes in true Thai style. Although the food is sweet it is of good quality and the servings are of a reasonable size.
Have been here a few times. Was pretty average to begin with but definitely getting better. They have pared back the menu (and got rid of the Italian pasta dishes - thankfully!) and maybe have a new chef. The noodles are great, especially the Pad Siew. The decor is pretty bad but that doesn't bother me much.
This place had terrible service. The restaurant was over-crowded and they were making other customers move from their table to occupy more people. Also, we ordered our food at 7:30 pm and I didn't get my dish till 9:45 pm. No one received their dishes at the same time. Some people at my table were finished before I even received my meal, while others still did not receive theirs when I was finished.
The food wasn't the best vegetarian food I tasted. I preferred the stir fries over the curries, even though I'm more of a curry fan. Maybe Monday night was just a busy night but I definitely won't be going there again.
