We ate here a year ago and loved it, last night we had our sons 1st birthday. Well, the worst was the my wife, mum and mum in law had the salmon, tasted fine but they all started feeling ill while still in the restaurant and in the bathroom just after getting home. The service was dismal, 5 people working and walking around (occasionally) and it took 20 minutes before they noticed my waving hand wanting a beer, And our table was front and centre!.

Had a great meal of salt and pepper calamari and prawns (not on the menu, but they were happy to make it), green chicken curry and Massaman beef curry and curry puffs and another item for entree, meals plus one glass of wine, gin and tonic and diet Coke came to $119, so not super cheap. The venue is nice overlooking the water. The service gets there but is not overly attentive.

After two recent meals I felt it time to make it known that the service at the Green Pearl is atrocious. The staff deliberately don't make eye contact and the food is slow to arrive at the table. I had to ask for a menu for the table, the drinks order was completely forgotten, I had to ask three times for fresh chilli then decided it was better to stand and wait at the servery until it was supplied. All up not a good experience and last time was the same. The setting is lovely, food is great although a little pricey, it's the staff that let this restaurant down badly.

Went here on Thursday night with friends from out of town. Have been coming here for some years - though not regularly. Food, as always, was delicious and fresh - we ordered a beautiful crab dish with lots of crab meat, sitting on top of what appeared to be spinach topped with a yellow curry sauce. Other hits were the scampi with green papaya salad and a prawn stir fry. The setting is lovely - overlooking Pittwater - the only downside is as everyone has commented - the sometimes impersonal service. This time however, we were lucky and the service was warmer - perhaps they have read the reviews.

I have been Green pearl Thai for 6-7 times but I never seen staff smile or friendly to the customers. Grumpy staffs.

Great position, wonderful view but service was poor!. Party of 4, we were seated at table for 6, then asked to move to table for 4. Would have died of thirst if did not ask for drinks menu! Mix up with dishes and teas, food was tasty but pricey. We did not feel welcome.

Happened to be in the area from interstate and stumbled upon this gem, have eaten in Thailand often and this meal was as good as any, had a great seafood curry, the night I was there the service was fine, and with the amount of plump seafood in my dish great value, would jump on a plane just to eat their food.

Good food, decent size meals and great view. Did not feel welcome though and can they really enforce a minimum spend of $26 per head?

Everything was very good and being right on the water looking out over Pittwater was really wonderful. I have been coming here since 2003 and have just had lunch on Friday 28th August 2009. Nothing has changed it was a pleasure to sit and eat good food with friendly service looking out on a wonderful view.

After a week in Sydney our Thai visitor was hankering for some good Thai food. The Green Pearl did not disappoint. We asked him to do the ordering and after much chatter with the waitress in Thai we had a great selection of wonderful thai dishes. The Tom Yum Pla in particular was excellent. The only disappointment was the service which does need improving as it was really slow.
