Wow, this is the best greek place I have ever eaten at! I live over an hour away from Mosman but I still drive all the way to Grecian Blue because the food is absolutely amazing.

There is so much variety that I really could not tell you my favourites but if I had to choose, the seafood marinara and oven baked lamb are great signature dishes.

This restaurant has a great atmosphere and the service is very friendly and attentive. The soft greek music playing adds to the overall vibe of the place and the prices are very reasonable for the great quality, and generous servings of food provided.

The only reason why I didn't press 10 on all aspects of this review is because I have been told that perfect 10s are not included in the overall rankings and I would not want to do this restaurant a disservice by not giving them the highest rating they deserve!

We went there tonight for my wife's birthday. Table of 4 adults. The wine we ordered ($60) was unavailable and they suggested an alternative which was enjoyed by all and a saving at only $38. We shared three mezzes to start (dips, haloumi and dolmades).

All excellent and the first time ever I have had Greek dips without needing to ask for additional bread. We shared a taste of each others main meals and everyone agreed they were all excellent. Only glitch was the waitress misunderstood my wife's main order and she had to play in the greek salad for 15 minutes until they cooked her correct meal. But, hey, if thats the worst thing that happens to us in life, we have nothing to complain about.

Desserts were to die for. Staff all friendly, helpful and professional. 3 starters, 4 mains, salad and two bottles of wine $275. We were most happy with the night.

Took my girlfriend here for a surprise birthday dinner. We all had a sensational night. Service was fantastic, all the food was super fresh and delicious, and they even put a candle on my girlfriends dessert for her, a very nice touch. We all had a great night, and we're all looking forward to going back very soon!

Food is fresh and you can tell the chef know's his food. The flavours are wonderful, rustic with portion sizes good value for money. It is definitely a well thought out menu with the owner/chef famous for his talent.I was at the restaurant the night the incident happened below. The customer's were idiots and wrecked the ambience for all of us. We are regulars and have always received consistantly great service and food.

Potentially the worst service experience of my life! I was genuinely shocked by how bad the service was at this restaurant and would not only not recommend it I would actually advise people not to go.

Let me paint the picture for you! As regulars at the Buena Hotel we often passed Grecian Blue and thought it looked lovely! As my boyfriend’s birthday was approaching I decided to book a table for us and close friends.

We turned up at 8 and in very good spirits, wearing party hats etc, we were certainly not there to cause trouble. The staff that were actually serving us were lovely and came over to take our order pretty promptly. I did not know the exact time but the order was taken on a pad and paper not an electronic order system, the reason for detailing this will become clear. After an average wait time the starters came out, or so we thought!

One starter actually came to the table, about 20 minutes later another starter came out, about 25 minutes later we attempted to cancel the remaining two starters but were told they were almost ready and we couldn’t! About 10 minutes later the 3rd starter arrived. The waiter then came over to ask if I had my starter, which I hadn’t, he apologised and said he would check with the kitchen. I again attempted to cancel it but was told again that it was nearly ready so I couldn’t but he did apologise for the issues with the entrees.

After finally receiving my starter approximately one hour and fifteen minutes after ordering and almost an hour after or first starter I went away from the table to let them know that we were very displeased but as we were there for a special occasion did not want the birthday boy to know.

I made them aware that we would expect some sort of compensation and this is where the trouble started. Initially our waiter, who as stated was very apologetic for the issues acknowledged the problem at which point a very rude lady who had nothing to do with our table or order came over and shouted to me ‘What’s your problem?’.

I was very shocked to be spoken to like this especially as I was mid way through a conversation with another member of staff but I began to explain the situation to her. She had no interest in listening and said she was going to get the chef.

I found this extremely strange and was very shocked I was been spoken to in this way and that the chef was to get involved! I really didn’t know what was going on at all.

Storming from the kitchen came a man even ruder than the waitress that had gone to get him. In front of the restaurant he started shouting at me’ What is your problem’ What is your problem’

I began to explain and was stopped and told that this was mezze so was the greek style, told that all food was cooked direct to order and we should be happy to wait, I was also told that the orders are electronic and we had only ordered at 9 pm and he could prove it and told to sit down shut-up enjoy my main course or to get out.

By this time I felt so intimidated that I was shaking. I was completely in disbelief as to what had happened and where it had come from. To add a comical slant I still had my party hat on!

Obviously we chose to leave and the night was completely ruined. There is no excuse for the way this man and woman chose to speak to me and it was completely unwarranted. The meal was not ordered as a mezze (having spent a lot of time in Greece I am aware that Greek meals are served as mezze and also served as entrée and main course which is what we ordered),and regardless if it was a mezze this was not explained and was apologised for by their staff. The time it took was ridiculous and the gaps between plates not even in a mezze style.

But above all the rudeness and complete disregard shown to their customers was disgusting. As we were leaving the restaurant a waitress that had been serving us apologised to us, she was then shouted at for this!

As stated above, it was the worst dining experience I have ever had and would urge you to consider before visiting.

The food here is absolutely amazing, the biggest must-have is the pork belly ribs with mash, to die for! Not the cheapest of restaurants but the servings were huge, we couldn't finish either of our dishes, definitely worth it. Must finish with the baklava ice cream, unique, creative and unbelievably tasty! Our waitress was rather unfriendly, but this didn't spoil our experience. Food was still quick and great quality. Agree with the comment that some of the locals are rude to the staff also, so probably no wonder.

You have to try any dish that has lamb, so tender, succulent and flavoursome. The staff are so friendly, but the some of the diners they have to put up with are so rude, goes with the Mosman arrogance I guess. But hands down one of the best Greek restaurants I have been too, the meal sizes are generous. The chef knows his food. A clever menu, I guarantee you will enjoy!

When we arrived we were made to feel like we had inconvenienced them some how. Not at all welcoming. If you like garlic you will love it but without all the garlic I think the dishes are bland. No kids menu. Waiters did not explain specials or even interact much. Busy road and pedestrian foot traffic but they try to seat everyone outside? Entrees were very slow. I think there is room for improvement.

Have been to this restaurant a number of times and it always pleases. The last time was in a big group for a birthday, and they really looked after us. The food is fantastic, really top notch. I'm vegetarian and there is always a couple of really good choices for me, and my meat-eating friends love the food too. It's not just standard fare, I've had plenty of spanokopita before, but there is something special about theirs. Also the halva ice cream is to die for!

It isn't the cheapest night out, but you're paying for quality (I don't think you're paying a premium for Mosman, I'd pay this price for food this good anywhere). The service is also fantastic, very friendly and accommodating. The management changed about 9 months ago I think, so earlier comments probably don't reflect how good this restaurant is now.
