Ordered the gyoza and ramen and while the gyoza was not bad, the ramen was just awful. An extreme miso taste it was very sticky & gooey probably due to a large amount of corn syrup that was very visible in the soup - even though hungry could not bare to eat it. Waiter could barley speak a word of English and even when I uttered number '25' three times and pointed I received number 26..a pathetic & futile experience... even for something as simple as noodle soup.
Service is pathetic. Waitresses cannot speak or understand English, it is a miracle not only to have your order taken down correctly, but you are asking a lot to have two meals arrive at the same time. Expect to have to watch your food go cold while waiting for your partner's meal to arrive.
After reading the comments in this page and with high expections, I went to Goshu with my boyfriend yesterday for lunch. We ordered 2 miso ramen, there was only 1 small piece of pork and the ramen is just like what you can buy from the supermarket. And we were left unsatisfied as we weren't getting what we've paid for! Not good value for money and definitely no 2nd time!
The good about this place is that the food is quite good. Though left feeling a bit hungry after having my nebuyaki udon. Strangely enough, this wasn't as big as their tempura udon, which my lunch partner ordered. Only downsides to eating here are having to eat outside in the cold and long waiting time for your food.
The waitress does deserve a mention, as she was very polite and pleasant, whilst serving and cleaning up after everyone, all on her own. Especially since the flow of customers was constant.
This place is cheap and cheerful. Excellent value and the food is pretty good for a noodle bar. The decor is pretty dodgy but the food makes up for it. Love the ramen, and the box sets.
I've trying to find a noodle bar for 2 years since I returned from Japan and finally found one that has a close enough feel of being in a noodle bar in Japan. It's small, cosy and friendly. The noodle servings are large and the food is good! Different soups available. Staff is attentive. Will definitely come back for more.
