I have eaten their food but once due to a special voucher I purchased. I don't recommend this restaurant. The type of food served here you might expect to find at a food court but with the restaurant price tag. The curry's are too oily to enjoy and smothered in far too much sauce.
The food takes much longer than expected to present and when it does it's not appealing. The dining room needs an entire overhaul. The carpet has a mouldy, pungent odour, due to very old food stains. Nothing about this restaurant impressed me right down to the chefs and the kitchen in a positive way.

Have visited this place around ten times now. It's become one of our "go-to" restaurants.
The food is great, some unusual dishes and a great mix of flavours which is Nepali cuisine. Must try dishes, Momocha dumplings, Piro Kukhura (chilli chicken), the Gorkha lamb curry, Beef Nariwal.
Service is very friendly, but can descend a little into chaos on a busy night, be prepared to wait a while for your food. Treat this place more like being invited over for a family dinner (and the cosy space and friendly staff will make you feel like this) and you'll be very pleased.
Meanwhile, I will keep coming back to this place.

This was like Indian food cooked using a jar from Coles, except they did not read the instructions. Never again.

Went there on saturday night and it was worst experience. Food was so bad in taste. No flavour and also it was reheated food in microwave. We had momo dumpling which was half cooked with no flavour. Even presentation was bad. chicken and lamb was chewy. Just stuck in the mouth. Curry were all same flavour and it took too long for the food to arrive. Even waiters were not trained and looked realy new with no idea about the menu items. Never visit again.

We shared the steamed dumplings, momocha, and the pieces of marinated lamb for our entrees. The dumplings were as if they were from a yum cha place, but looks were decieving, they had the spicing of an indian dish served with a really unusual dipping sauce. They were great, not so the lamb pieces, which were so tough and chewy it was like they had served us seared chuck steak lumps. The chilli heat was over the top, the serve was tiny, the whole dish was really ordinary.
Scared by this dish, we changed our thoughts about ordering the goat curry, which we really wanted to try. So, we went with a prawn curry and an unusual sounding beef curry made with coconut milk. After we finished our entrees and were thinking about ordering our mains, we did ask the waitress what 'heat rating' the lamb entree was. She replied it was 'medium to hot'. With us finding it 'volcanic', we suggested 'medium' for our mains.
Our fault I'm sure, but as a consequence we found our mains 'super-mild'. Not a sceric of heat to be tasted, in retrospect we should have kept our traps shut, because this really spoilt it for us. Don't get me wrong the mains were full of flavour, but we do like the heat, just not at the tongue blistering scale of the entree served to us. We will give it another try, even though I have erred on the side of generousity and rated the food a 7, it was closer to 6.
June 10 update - Well, we gave Gorkha Palace another go, and we kept our traps shut. Shared a mixed entree, and for mains went for the goat curry and chicken curry. We asked for medium hot, and it was hot but not unbearable making our meal alot more enjoyable than last visit. The goat dish had chunks of gristle intermingled with the most wonderful meat.
The chicken used thighs, as it should, but again the 'trimming' was poor with quite a few chunks of gristle and bone attached to the meat chunks. Both dishes had heaps of flavour, nice thick gravy and just the right amount of heat for us. We'd give this visit a 7.5, wishing for a bit more attention to detail in the prep of the meat.
Response from Management:
Thank you sir for your precious comments, we surely put this matters with our Head Chef and next time you will not have that feel. We look forward to see you again and love to see your comments so that we can better our service and food.

Absolutely a hidden gem! Came here on a early Saturday evening. Not very busy so staff was very attentive. Started off with pappadums served with some sort of yogurt mint sauce (they were happy to give us seconds). We ordered the $22 p/p banquet and were stuffed! The chicken tikka masala was a bit on the spicy side even though we asked for mild, but I loved it.
Although, the dessert was an acquired taste for me. The portions were very generous and good valued. We also got a chance to check out the cushion room upstairs. Perfect for a intimate gathering of around 30-40 ppl. Will definitely be coming back!

Absolutely fantastic, I do not believe how good this food is, we have been back close to 15 times. Exceptional, anyone tells you this place is no good is either competition or doesn't like, experience this for yourself. The best Indian food hands down in Sydney.

Ate here on Sunday and it was fantastic, we had two cokes, two mains (Lamb Curry - Chef's Special and Vegetarian Korma), Garlic Naan and a Filled Naan (Potato and Cauliflower?) which was just delicious. Lamb dish wasn't as great, but loved the Korma, it was the right amount of spiciness (I had medium) and an awesome balance between nuttiness, creaminess and spice. We ordered one serve of rice that had cumin seeds and butter - so tasty!
At the end of the meal, we were given a after dinner refresher of aniseed seeds that was presented in a beautiful pewter chest with toothpicks. It's the small details that is nice. All up, we paid $46 for this and I had enough leftovers for lunch the next day.
It was quiet on Sunday night so if you're planning a party, call and book as it's not a large venue. Great value. The staff were polite and the food came out quick. They were just a tad slow to give us the bill, but everything else was spot on.
Traditional fan fare of Tibetian peace flags and other pictures and paintings adorn the walls, it makes you feel like you could be in Nepal or India.
I'd come here again, I'm still dreaming of the korma. I can't wait to bring my friends here again. I expect good quality food, regardless of the price and this ranks quite highly!
