This place is expensive. For two drinks, BBQ Duck dish, and one serve of dumplings I was charged $34.90. The duck came with a small serve of rice, the actual duck was just several slices. Tasted Ok, but comparing this with what's on offer at Burwood Road or the Dixon Street foodcourts for less than $10, the serve was small and served without greens. Next time I'll ignore their persistent menu flapping hawkers that drag you in from the street, I'll just go elsewhere.

I've been living in Sydney my whole life and this must be one of my favourite yum-cha places of all! The food is a lot fresher/crispier than other chinese places and it is great value for yum cha. The dinner menu is delicious. The service is good but sometimes a bit too overwhelming, with 5 or more waiters rushing towards you to give you food at once!

Thought the food was great, but so overpriced! However that could be sydney/chinatown in general as I am from the gold coast. I just thought $25 for a mongolian lamb was a bit of a joke.

Popped in for yum cha last Sunday morning after taking kids to the aquarium. What a great find, great food, great service and ambience. My best recommendation as always is that I will go back.

The food was ok but the service was terrible. We were after a few specific dishes from the yum cha menu but they said we couldn't order and they would just come around. So we waited for ages and those dishes never came. To top it off the people at the table next to us asked for specific dishes and they took their order! When we asked for some water the waitress replied, "Water? Wait!" By the time we finished our meals the water had not come. I will never eat there again.

Just because it is in Dixon St does not make it a good chinese restaurant, very expensive easily $10 per dish more expensive than better restaurants, seafood definitely had an old fishy smell not a fresh sea smell over all would never go there again.

Like OzTerry I think the Golden Harbour has been on the decline for the last 12 months. Although Maria still packs the people in with a warm smile and friendly welcome I'm sad to say that the range and quality of the food has declined whilst the prices have crept slowly higher. Having has many great times there with friends its time for us to move onward and outward. We wish them all the very best.

The lady at the front door promised me that this is the best Chinese restaurant in Chinatown, so I'd thought I'd give it a go. The food was disappointing. Nothing special at all. Not authentic and the flavours were very average. It was a little overpriced for the portion sizes served. I have dined at many Chinese restaurants/cafes and I must say that Golden Harbour is nothing special at all. I won't be going back there in a hurry.

Service at this busy Chinatown restaurant was efficient and the food was fine, although more oil (or something?) seemed to be used in a couple of the dishes than we’re used to. The prices were ok, although we couldn't see any prices for the live fish. However, we didn't have these, so it wasn't an issue.
