We live just behind this restaurant and dare I say, it's one of the best decisions we ever made! Golden Fang serves up the tasty goodness of Chinese Malaysian dishes with the minimum of frills and fusses, resulting in great value for money if you don't mind the somewhat gungy atmosphere.

The fact that the place is jammed pack with students is probably living testament to how good this place is. All time favourites include the roast duck, combination omelette, fried green beans and salt and pepper squid.

I ate here at least twice a week when I worked at broadway. I still miss it and I will be going back there soon when time permits. Food is incredible value for money and everything is cooked perfectly. Nothing overcooked or soggy, everything spiced just right. A good example will be the combination omelette which is under $9.00 for a meal that will feed two people. It is delicious and needs no extra soy sauce. The Pork Chops are divine. Two massive cripsy deep fried pieces that are very tender and has just the right amount of lemon grass!

The service used to be non-existent. Barely a "please" or a "thank you" or a smile. Change being slammed back into your hand, notes being snatched abruptly. The young rude lady has not been there for quite some time and the two young main waiters and awesomely friendly and helpful. Like all other similarly priced chinese restaurants, you don't expect much customer service but these guys, including the ever-smiling chef, are awesome.

The crispy-skin chicken had all the right textures, the sang chong chicken flavoursome and the steamed dumplings snatched from the plate soon after arrival. The vegetables were fresh with not a frozen one in sight.

Unfortunately, I visited the toilet before ordering and it just about sent me packing. There is one bathroom, with a urinal which on this occasion featured a dead cockroach. Thankfully it was my three-year old son and not me who needed to take a pee so the hands free option was available.

The service here was okay for the price we paid. With the bill coming to a whopping $52 to feed four adults and a child it would be churlish to nitpick over its slowness and lack of decorum.

For me and my wide this is the best Chinese place in town, sang tong chicken was our first dish suggested by a very humble waiter, mainly looking at our Indian origin, we loved it to death and have been having it since then. The whole steamed barramundi is a steal for the price, even after the prices have been increased by a dollar or 2 recently, I took my friend there and he discovered his favourite dumpling. I have to admit the taste is great, would definitely recommend this place for casual meal in the evenings.

For me The Golden Fang is all about the steamed dim sum and the Crispy Skin Chicken with Ginger Shallots, both are great. This is one of those places where you could easily order the wrong things and think the food is awful. They have a couple of very authentic meals which to my Aussie palate are horrible but I'm sure all the Chinese students who eat there think are delicious. And yes, the value is amazing. Three mains will well feed four big eaters. Great place for pre-movie eating, Hoyts is just down the road.

A friend and I eat here about once a fortnight. We are both foodies and so long as you know what to eat, this little place has some of the best Chinese in Sydney. Not much to look at and on busy nights, you have to fight the local Asian student population for a table, but order wisely and be adventurous in what you order. You won't be disappointed! Try the fish fillets in corn sauce and deep fried chicken with ginger.

We went for lunch today and loved it. Decor's not the best, but the service was fantastic and the food arrival was very prompt. Ordered dim sim entree, crispy chicken with ginger and shallots, mixed meat omelette and the whole barramundi ... for two people. There was so much we ended up taking a little of each main dish home. The green tea was delicious too!

Value for money was amazing. For what it is, we loved it. Were expecting crappy service (going by the other reviews), but were delightfully proven wrong. I'd happily go back any day.

Very authentic cantonese food and extremely good value for money. Service is disappointing but given the prices...who cares?

Whenever I'm hungry I usually come here for a quick bite to eat!! The value is tremendous. It really comes down to what you ask for.... I tend to ask for what I want in my bowl ie: no this no that but I want this.... etc... the language barrier can be an issue as already stated but the food is freshly cooked, hot and usually quite tasty!!
