Great little place on the outskirts of Military Rd. Was next to another Japanese restaurant, but thought this had a more bubbly feeling. Ordered tofu salad, Goemon sushi, sashimi main and terkiyaki chicken.

It was a Sunday, so it seemed the waiters were quite under-staffed but the orders did come out eventually. I didn't mind this as I liked the pace of the dishes.

Tofu salad was great, very thick chunky pieces, almost felt like fetta cheese. Both the sushi and sashimi were excellent. Teriyaki chicken could have been a little better, it was much too crispy. We enjoyed all of this with a bottle of sake.

Overall a great place to dine, will be back for the other sushi varieties as we loved the Goemon roll! Highly recommended.

I've been dining at Goemon for many years. I went again this week and was sad to see that dishes had changed for the worse. It looks as though there are new owners? The sauce on the tempura prawn special was different and the prawns were much smaller. The wagyu steak was quite bland, it used to be excellent every time. The service was still great and the staff were friendly. The food is still nice but not amazing as it always used to be.

We had the lunch special menu box on a sunday afternoon. The food was fabulous! I had the teriyaki chicken, which was absolutely stunning, it melt in your mouth. The lunch box came with california rolls, fresh sashimi and money bag. They all really good. We came quite early, so there was no queue. But, by the time we finished lunch, the restaurant was already full. Definitely recommended!

Went there for dinner on a Friday night. The food was good (we had sushi and sashimi, did not try their cooked food), service was a bit on the slow side as the restaurant was very busy.

As for ambience the seating was comfortable but it was quite noisy to the point that one has to speak up to have a proper conversation, but the overall vibe is lively. The overall experience was about average, we will consider going back.

Delicious! The Teriyaki chicken is amazing! I'm not sure what they do to it but it has a light crust and it's served with Japanese mayo, moorish, the tempura gyoza are a must try but you can't have more than one they are really good but a little sickening. Also try the Wagyu sushi roll melt in the mouth!

The food is so amazing it is worth squeezing between the tightly placed tables and enduring the noise. Everything is so fresh, prepared with care, served by friendly staff and delicious. Do yourself a favour and order the tuna and kingfish carpaccio...yum!

Amazing sushi. Amazing. I sometimes have flashbacks, then start craving and cease to function. One of the best places to eat on the North Shore.

I love this place. I always find the ingredients to be very fresh and of very high quality. They have a vast array of dishes that rival the more expensive local Japanese competition. In fact that reminds me, probably the most alluring thing about this place is the price! For this quality you simply can't beat this place.
