A neighbourhood favourite, the menu at Glebe Point Diner is small and ever-changing. This reflects the freshness of produce used, everything including bread and butter are made from scratch. The wine list, consisting of Oz and overseas wines is impressive. Glebe is a comfortable and relaxed diner, with open interiors and floor-to-ceiling glass.

My value rating dropped because of $20 BYO charge. I like it because it's very local and has a great pate entree.

I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Glebe Point Diner! The food was excellent, all plates we ordered were flavoursome. The service was another point I would like to commend them on, our water and wine glasses were always full, there was only a short wait between courses. The waitress who served us was warm and friendly. I am looking forward to our next visit there.

Oh dear, what a noisy and over priced restaurant this one is. The cost of corkage? $20! Distance between tables? About 18 inches. The food? Not too bad, but nothing to rave about. The really annoying aspect though was the decibel level. My friend and I had to yell at each other and I had to cup my ear to hear her. Surely a bit more space between tables wouldn't impact too badly on the profit margin?

When we phoned to make a booking was told that it was BYO and corkage was $20! If they want to deter people from bringing wine they should just say no to BYO, $20 is just plain rude!
We had a reservation for 8pm for an outside table. Whilst we were waiting to go in they sat another group at our table and told us to come back in 30 minutes which was not a good start.
For entree we had pate, stuffed zucchini flowers and squid. The squid was beautifully done. The zucchini flowers were rich but the dish was dry as it lacked a enhancing dressing on the plate. Mains: Snapper, crab pasta, steak and pork. Crab pasta and pork were delicious, the pasta serving was small and was expensive for what it was. Side dish of seasonal vegetables was broccoli only.
Over priced for what it is but the overall restaurant has a great vibe. They need to work on their menu ie: more choices and better accompaniments and more wait staff.

We enjoyed our meal here, but I'm not sure we'd rush back as it lacked any wow factor.
The room is a nice space, but the tables are too cramped so we felt in the pockets of our neighbours.
Service was great all night, the only downside was that our food came out too fast, literally minutes after we'd ordered entree, then minutes after entree was finished mains arrived.
Our shared entree of the cheese souffle was wonderful, probably the highlight of the meal, and we were glad we shared it due to the size and richness.
For mains we had the pork belly special with apple coleslaw, and the crab pasta. The pasta had way too little crab in it, but was nicely flavoured. The pork was tender, the sauce perhaps a little too rich for the rich meat, but again it was solid.
For dessert we had the choc fudge ice-cream, and the almond dacquoise. The ice cream was too plain, without a trace of actual fudge in it, while the dacquoise was nice, but very heavy.
The wines by the glass were ok, but wines and beers are a bit overpriced. All up, a nice experience with decent mod oz food, but not a stand out.

We ate here on Sat 22 Oct 11. Despite having a booking for the '8pm sitting' we were rudely ignored and then told a table wasn't ready (despite six or more being vacant), and then made to stand around in the doorway.
The menu was nothing more than overpriced cafe food. There was three options for the mains beef, chicken or fish (wedding food). The entree of pate tasted like store bought maggie beer and the squid was poorly presented and basically $2 worth of fried calamari thrown on a plate. The salami entree was 6 thin, small slices which was ordinary and no where near the quality of say the wine library. Didn't bother with the RSL mains of steak with boiled broccoli and had souffle instead which was tasteless and smelt of cheap cheese.
Whilst there seems to be some attempt at french diner cuisine, if you are a foodie head elsewhere as this is basic cooking, don't expect anything too complex or quality which given the mains are over $30 could recommend far better places. The fact this place passes itself of as such high quality is a poor indication of Sydney restaurants, and why we are behind Melbourne in this area.

Had dinner here for a friend’s birthday. We were a party of 7 and booked for a Friday evening for the 8 pm seating.
Restaurant seems out of place amongst all the residential homes but that’s probably what makes it a little gem. Inside high ceilings, striped walls, and a high black board with all their specials. The ambience is cosy, intimate but also bustling as the place was full of guests. Staff were friendly and constantly seeking to see if we were happy with everything.
For entrée I had the liver pâté with toast, was not disappointed. I tried my husbands pork belly, delicious! For main I had the steak sirloins with potatoes and spinach. I must have gotten a fatty piece cause there was too much fat for my liking. Dessert we shared the chocolate pudding which was divine. The rich dark chocolate pudding just dissolved in your mouth.
Food and drinks on the higher price side but the quality was there. Only complaints we ordered a bottle of wine at one point waiter asked if we wanted another, surprised we finished the one bottle we said yes. She took out another bottle and we all discovered the first bottle wasn’t finished and was sitting in the cooler. She said she would give us the 2nd bottle for free if we get through both.
So later when we asked for a top up she said that the 2 glasses she poured equated to the one bottle and if we wanted another she would charge us for a second bottle. Annoyed she back track on her original offer on her error?

This place is a must go for anyone who loves delicious food and being looked after buy friendly staff. Gets loud when busy but is well worth it for what you get. Tried tuna and wasabi entree and had the homemade linguine with crab, wow. Don't overlook this little gem! We didn't and will be back.
