Best chinese for money in Sydney! Most chinese really overcooks the veges, but here they are always plentiful, crisp, fresh and tasty accompanying flavoursome classic meals like Mongolian Lamb or sizzling Garlic Prawns. Yum! Cooked lighter than most chinese places, more like Thai in that respect I think, the cornflour isn't overdone so the dishes aren't too thick. Salt and Pepper squid also nice but a bit greasy for my tastes.
The special fried rice is really lovely and only $7 for a massive plate and it couldn't taste better. Although you respond to a beeper to collect your meals, the cook comes out to make sure everyone is happy, so you can see he takes pride in his work. Quick service, cheap drinks, and outdoor seating for us dreadful smokers! What more could you ask?
I don't know how any could write a less than glowing report on this place ? it's heaven on a stick ! I love it !
Me and my mate shanksy some times come up here for a slap up Chinese feed before we hit the town. The salt and pepper squid is a must, as is the Peking shredded beef, make sure you also try the red snapper. It used to be great because you could sit at the table after your meal and enjoy a nice glass of port and a stogie, anti smoking laws have stopped that !
The restaurant is always good for excellent Chinese and Australian food and you never overspend. These guys have come a long way since the last time I visited. The Gladesville Sporties is the new place to be for young and old. And the cheapest beer in town. Go Sporties!
