Great food here - really authentic Singaporean fare. The Hainanese chicken rice was divine. Desserts were really tasty as well. Make sure you book though, and turn up at the time you book for, otherwise you risk losing your table and having to wait outside for 45 mins (saw this happen to a few tables on a Saturday night).

As a Malaysian Chinese I'm quite critical of Malay/Singapoean food. However this place is good. I actually really like the Beef Rendang that everyone else seems to not like. Prawns are very nice. Really love the Nasi Lemak. However , I've had better Hainan Chicken and Rice.

It's not that cheap either for an asian restaurant. Their lemon-ice tea is great though!

Chili crab a crowd pleaser. Hor Fun surprisers new comers. Dishes served at irregular intervals, I suspect without a service plan, but in the end allows the over eager orderer time to digest!

The place is a gem for people in the north shore to enjoy quality Singaporean food without having to travel a long way to the other side of Sydney. The Hainan Chicken was good, as is the the Singaporean chilli prawns. The major disappointment is the beef rendang. The sauce is too watery and lacking in flanour. The quality of food also seems to have dropped a notch or two compare to its earlier days.

The food was fabulous and the $38 banquet was well worth it. I will be returning sometime soon - great

Food and service are consistent. Dishes to try are Oyster omelete, Carrot cake (Fried), Fish head noodle soup and poh piah (S'pore/M'sian spring roll), just to name some.

Lunched here on a quiet weekday. Satay was average, the pieces were cut a little too big, bigger than the fine strips you get in Singapore and lacked a little in taste(have yet to find good satay anywhere outside Singapore!). Hainanese chicken rice was a good attempt but was lacking in flavour although texture was good. Chili was weak but the soup was very tasty though. Beef rendang was forgettable - lacking depth and spice. Best dish was the Nasi goreng and I liked the perfect crispy fried egg on top - very nice. I liked the ambience but unless someone drags me there I probably won't be going back. I really expected more from the reviews. Maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes.

Dinner for 5 - $109. Dishes were Oluak, Kangkung belachan, beef rendang, half (a very small) Hainanese chicken, char kway teow. The Oluak was probably the highlight food wise, it's the first time I have ever had this dish and I would definitely order it again. The rendang was spicier than usual and reasonably tasty but lacking a little in 'body'. The char kway teow was a bit of a disappointment, the soy was used a little too liberally and it just seemed to lack something. I didn't eat the chicken so I can't give an opinion - those given ranged from "great" to "I've had better". The kangkung was a bit of a disappointment, the belachan wasn't utilised that well and the kangkung was a bit overcooked. Maybe it was because it was a Tuesday evening and the restaurant was barely half full but we had pretty good service. The waiter was very attentive when it came to replenishing rice and everyone else seemed quite hospitable. We all found the serving sizes quite adequate with the exception of the chicken.

Beef rendang was very spicy. Hainan chicken was good and chicken was very tender. Malay satays were delicious as well. The dim candle lighting was very romantic. Pleasant atmosphere and nice decoration.

The best Malaysian food I have tasted on the North Shore. Their Hainanese chicken and Kangkung belancan should not be missed. A word of caution - the restaurant is fairly small so be prepared to be cramped on a Friday or Saturday night as well as smelly clothes when you finish your meal.
