That way we can allocate tables with your party in mind, and we’ll be able to give you a realistic estimate of any waiting time. Or, just come on down, and have a drink in the bar. We’ll make sure the next available table is all yours!

We had dinner on Tuesday 22 May, the restaurant was really full, but we had to wait for 5 minutes only. Great scallops, fabulous tasmanian salmon with fresh gnocchi, my partner received a really generous plate of garfish and some chips. We shared a belgium chocolate waffle, I think it is enough for two.
The prices are really expensive, and probably we will not be going back in this restaurant, but I can say the staff and the food for us were great, and for one time you can try, especially if you like the really fresh fish well cooked, but check you have enough money in your pocket!

Food was ok, a little expensive. Service was the pits. Waitress was rude, snappy and completely condescending. Would never go there again and quite frankly there is much better service at McDonalds.

A very average experience in a fairly expensive restaurant. Entrees were disappointing, the smallest scallops in the world. Main courses were good, not really warranting the price tag though. Service was ok.
Overall it was ok but there are many places in the area where you can spend the same money and have a better experience.

It was our 8th visit at Garfish restaurant and we had an average dinner for a whooping $205 between two of us (this was after we byo wine)! In my opinion it is super expensive for what it is. This place is brilliant for breakfast, but the prices are very high. How can you charge $36 for a small portion of barramundi (which tasted very muddy) and chips?!
We would definitely look for a better option in our area.

Perhaps, Garfish management have been reading these reviews, because one of the best things about our visit for lunch (9.10.11) was the service. Our waitress was friendly, down to earth and very helpful. We arrived as a group of five with a pram (and no booking) on a sunny Sunday and were accommodated quickly.
The fish + side options that my friends chose were a little average and not good value, however, I had the Green Curry and this was a delicious generous portion with a lovely thick sauce. The only disappointment is that it lacked the heat usually expected with a green curry.
As others have commented, Garfish has a cafe/takeway ambience and it is hard to reconcile this with the restaurant pricing.
While my meal was tasty, I wouldn't go back on the strength of this alone. With so many great restaurants to choose from in Kirribilli and Neutral Bay, Garfish need to lift their game.

We had dinner at this restaurant on a Sunday evening. The service, food, ambience and value was of a high standard and I highly recommend this restaurant.

We planned a meal at Garfish for my parent's last night in Sydney. As instructed by the restaurant, 30 minutes prior to arrival we called the restaurant and confirmed our time of arrival, which we were told would be no problem for seating.
Upon arrival, we were informed we would have to wait 15 minutes. We duly returned 15 minutes later but there was still no table available. We were then informed it would be another 15 minutes and the restaurant would call us to confirm when available. 1 hour later and still no call so I went back to the restaurant to investigate and was told there was finally a table available.
I duly informed the rest of our party who also returned to the restaurant. However, upon their arrival it became apparent that there was still no table available, despite it now being at least 1.5 hours after our agreed seating time. Despite this appalling customer service, the Maître d' was rude, entirely unapologetic and insisted it was not his fault.
He also proceeded to argue loudly with us in front of the rest of the customers. We were left thoroughly disgusted at both the customer service and attitude of the staff and left to rue a very disappointing last night in Sydney for my parents. Please note that we contacted Garfish regarding our grievances prior to this review but they failed to respond.

We had lunch on Sunday 26 June and was treated like customers in a fast food restaurant. We overheard that their computer system was down and would delay their service. However she couldn't be bothered conveying this message to our table. She couldn't be bothered greeting us with a smile.
The menu stated that they purposely undercook their fish to ensure the quality of the fish would remain. However both mains that came out were overcooked. Considering the restaurant was only half full, we could have received better service. I will never go back and will definitely let everyone know about my experience.

Food was alright but definitely small and not worth the money. A big group of us (I think we were 10 at the time) had to wait two hours, Two Hours, for our brekkie, and while somewhat tasty, definitely not worth that wait. We were told that they didn't give us our orders first because we were a big group and they wanted to clear out the small orders first. That was their level of professionalism. We were given a free round of coffee for our wait and we all know how much money actually goes into a cup of coffee. Don't go there for food. It's very pretty yes but food was nothing substantial. I would rather get desexed than pay for their food and service. (This was from a couple of years ago, I'm just going through the restaurants I've been in and adding them to my review list.)

Lunched yesterday (19.5.11) and had the fish and chips, it was awful. The "hubby" and I literally felt sick all night. I have had coffee there before and it was fine but overpriced greasy fish and chips were awful. The service was good but the communal toilet was very grubby. Will not be going back.
