The pizza is fantastic, fairly simple and made by some new Italian pizza maker from Northern Italy. The menu has honest food, you order gnocchi and that's what you get, no lamb or fetta cheese, just simple Italian food. There is plenty of space, you can smoke if you want and you can eat without sending you broke, I think it’s still a family run business and they have been there for a long time. And yes you will find an Italian Mama in the kitchen still going but don't hold your breath they are disappearing.

Enjoyed lunch at the Galletta Bar. This is more a restaurant than bar so rating schedule not appropriate. Food quality was good, service was attentive. Bulk of the specials were unavailable. Nothing to write home about so wouldn't rush back.

Review below is obviously from someone without taste!!! I myself have worked in and eaten at many a restaurant and found that Galletta Bar was exceptional. The waiters are very attentive, the portions of a perfect size and of quality not quantity. Unlike the person below I do not like to leave the table feeling uncomfortable!!!
Try the homemade tiramisu! it's a delight and the woodfired pizzas...a rarity these days anywhere...particulary in Leichhardt!

We ventured out to Leichhardt on the weekend. We were not impressed!!! the glasses had stains on them, no ice in any glasses, not even asked if we did not or did want ice, no glass came with a soft drink so had to drink out of the can and the servings were really really small which I found odd as normally at Italian restaurants they are massive. The waiter was nice and recommended a few things which was good. But overall the actual place needs renovating or something to bring out a nice atmosphere warmth. It just felt like a normal restaurant in the west.
