Love the Fringe, Don't get me wrong, its an awesome venue But It has recently changed hands and the food is now horrible. It used to be amazing but today I ordered a grilled chicken burger with all the trimmings (avocado salsa, fries etc etc). It looked and Tasted just like mcdonalds. No joke. For $15, I will stay clear of the food and just go for drinks here from now on. What a pity.

We went to The Fringe Bar for Trivia on Tuesday night. It was an enjoyable time and a good atmosphere. The beer was average price. The food was average for pub food. Nothing exciting in terms of food and drink. The overall feel of the place was welcoming.

I went to the Fringe Bar last night for a 21st, and I couldn't think of a better place to hold it.

The drinks were good, but the real reason this place is attractive is the decor. It has a kitschy charm about it, especially in 'the Birdcage' room, with chandeliers, leather armchairs, photographs and vintage birdcages hanging from the ceiling. The lighting creates a sort of romantic elegance without compromising the fun ambience.

A recommended place to go with friends on a Friday night. We will definitely be coming back!

Wow, $10 steak was awesome. Cool little place, great vibe, enjoyed ourselves. Would recommend it.

Was there for a wedding after-party on Saturday 27 September, so probably had a bit of the racing crowd in there as well, but a good vibe to the place. Hadn't eaten so ordered a $10 steak, close to the best I've eaten and I'm a fussy steak eater. Service as the night rolled on became longer and longer, but as you would expect with more and more thirsty revelers. Would head back.

Service appalling, food terrible, it is cheap but still you expect something edible for $12. $4 for a water with dash of lime. Forget this place.

Very poor service. The spotty youths behind the bar were not interested serving anybody over 30 and/or male. Trying to impress young girls with their cocktail shaking biceps (or what passed for same) was very funny, it could be a cabaret act. The steak was from a cow that was kindly allowed to die of old age, and the pizza was just dull. Confused place, tries for young and funky, comes across as a student dive. Went across the road to the three weeds rose and thistle and finished the night well.

The food overall is quite bad, very bland and stodgy. I have tried the lasagna(boring), chicken schnitzel (bad topping) steak (was overcooked), fish and chips (fish wasn't fresh). Definitely not recommended if you want good old hearty pub food.

Decent pub food and good value. The service is a bit slow, especially the bar staff. Ordered the salmon and got a lasagne which was pretty good and probably the better choice giving previous comments about over-cooked fish. Steak was excellent as were pub food classics such as salt and pepper squid and fries. Very noisy though.

Bar far the best pub I've been to in Sydney, the food is good, what you'd expect from a pub, not sure what the other reviewers are looking for from a pub that does food not a restaurant? The staff are friendly, atmosphere is friendly and quiet bohemian, so a good place to take a few mates for a drink and a laugh, oh and they make a cracking margarita, so get a cocktail in!!
