Wonderful coffee, tasty and hearty breakfast, fast and friendly service, a very pleasant experience. I too am a little surprised at some of the negative feedback, must have been there on a good day.
The chorizo/feta scrambled eggs were wonderful and filling with a unique taste, while the wife's standard scrambled fare was also well received. Coffee was probably the best I had on a three day weekend and worth another trip back later for a takeaway. Barista and waiter were friendly and the meals arrived within a reasonable amount of time despite the Sunday morning buzz.
I'm surprised to read some of the less favourable reviews, I always find the staff friendly and laid back, but yeah, it gets busy, if you tell 'em you're in a hurry they'll look after you though, the coffee's truly great, the foods fresh and yum, the cakes are wicked and the menu changes. I'm happy to pay for quality and support ethical business, Best muffins!
The coffee might be amazing. But is it enough? Fresh needs to be nicer to its customers. Service is slow and often snide. We visit every week for coffee and breakfast, gluttons for punishment. Each week hoping the service will improve. Seeing others treated with the same distant contempt in the cafe there is no surprise that there are other reviews similar to mine on this forum.
Easily the best coffee and breakfast in the mountains. The service can be a bit hit and miss however. It seems to be mainly the female staff that let the side down. Have been here a dozen or so times for breakfast and slightly overcooked poached eggs on one occasion is the only negative comment I can come up with.
Have been here a few times while house-hunting. Good coffee, depending on whose behind the counter we've noticed. Food was excellent but very limited menu. Staff were most indifferent, we've virtually been ignored on some occasions.
Not much to say other than this place serves, I believe some of the best coffee in the mountains, when ever I am passing through it is simply a must to stop here for a fresh cup.
$18 for 2 fried egg rolls! Ridiculous! When did that happen? We have been going regularly due to the good business practices but service is always slow and this was the icing on the cake.
This is a regular stop when in the Blue Mountains. Love the coffee and food, even though it's a small menu. Food is very fresh and the breakfast's are wonderful. Down side? Poor service for those that aren't 'regulars'. Visited two weeks in a row and were completely ignored by staff, even when the staff outnumbered the patrons.
We go there because the food is spot-on and the coffee delicious. The staff just need to learn that it's important to attract 'new' regulars and if they wandered around the cafe asking if you would like another coffee etc. instead of gas bagging behind the counter they would probably double their takings!
