Awesome food and service. A bit pricey but worth the price.

Me and my partner booked an early dinner and received a glass of complimentary champaign each was nice. For appetisers we ordered the pierogi with organic pork and roasted shallots and the fried cauliflower. They were both nice but I thought the cauliflower was quite unique. We were quite full at that point so only order one main which we decided to be the chicken breast with potato dumplings. I thought it was quite average though the chicken was very tender.
The dessert had to be the best part as we ordered the choclate ganache and walnut souffle. The souffle was nice but a little eggy but the ganache was absolutely Delicious complimented with icecream and tuile!
However, after a lovely evening when we received the bill we realised they had charged us $9 for a tiny bottle of still water that didn't even last us until main. I thought water would be free but it was even more expensive then some of the alcohol which I thought was a massive rip off.
I would come back again for the desserts but I definitely won't be taking any more water!

The tapas style menu was delicious. We were recommended the cauliflower, pierogi and cevapi, all fantastic even though one of us doesn't traditionally eat cauliflower! But he'll eat it if it's deep fried! We had the lamb main, heaps of lamb, super succulent!
We had the apple pie cocktail - Yummy! The ambience is like a dining room. The waitstaff look cute in bow ties! The bathrooms are lovely!
The service was exceptional. They always had a smile on their face, v attentive and enthusiastic. They took the time to go through the menu and make recommendations!
Great value for money. Would definitely come again. They've got 60 flavours of vodka too! Bottoms up!

Amazing! Highly recommended for all you out there. Food was so good and different, and the live acoustic music accompanied with the candle lit atmosphere really set the scene for a romantic and enjoyable night out!
Loved it and highly recommend it! Decor was so awesome, I couldn't stop looking! Kitchen nice and tidy! We got this as an ouffer deal and it has got to be one of the best deal's I have ever tried. They didn't treat us anything less than perfect!

At first the name Food Society confused me. But after we dined here, I understood. It's Modern Eastern European food so I really thought it should have a matching name. However, it Is so much more than just Modern Eastern European food, it should be a society.
My husband and I used an ouffer voucher to dine here last week and we were pleasantly shocked. Food Society turned out to be one of the best voucher's we've ever purchased and one we'd seriously consider going back for even if we had to pay full price. It's the kind of place that we both commented that we would proud to take overseas visitors. It's got a great atmosphere, fantastic service and the food is just amazing and all for a good price in a trendy location.
The atmosphere was so cozy with different rugs all over the floor, mismatched wooden chairs, interesting vintage kitchen pieces adorning the wall, plants hanging from the walls and beams. It was really nice and unique. Our menu was all shared, which was perfect. We ate: Complimentary pickles and breadsticks.
Smalls: Chicken liver parfait with onion jam and toasted breads. Fried cauliflower with paprika, parsley, watercress and red wine vinegar, Beetroot and vodka cured ocean trout blinis with dill cream.
Large: Lamb ribs with sliced potatoes, tomato, eggplant and rosemary, Chicken breast with potato dumplings, mushrooms and paprika with Iceberg lettuce with red onion and cucumber
Dessert: Society signature paska with strawberry compote
Every single thing was fantastic but I have to mention a few outstanding items. The Chicken liver parfait was simply amazing. I was going to ask for another option because I don't normally eat organs but this was just amazing. It's made me stop and look for pate or something similar everywhere I go, so delicate and creamy! Also the lamb, it just simply melted in my mouth, all accompaniments were simply perfect too.
The chicken was super moist and filled with flavour. The freed cauliflower (which I at first thought might be bland or boring) was fantastic, great flavour and super crunch, it was amazing. Then there was the dessert, their signature pashka, so delicious, creamy, crunchy, cheesy with a slightly tangy sweet strawberry compote, all perfectly balanced for taste and texture. This dessert also went perfect with the complimentary vodka.
We also had a Czech beer at $11 for 500ml, it was a little pricey but it was really good. Thanks Food Society, we'll be back.

Went here for our 2nd wedding anniversary. Have to say, the service was shocking! It took 15 minutes for someone to offer me a drink and water as I arrived a little after my wife. I had to ask 3 times for a top up of wine. I found the waiters very difficult to understand, however, they were very pleasant when they were at our table.
Food was ok, definitely not spectacular and definitely not bad. Would have expected more considering the prices of the food. Place is well decked out, nice decorations and a good solo guitar player in the doorway.

We were invited by our friends to join them on Thursday night as they had an offer deal, and had no idea what to expect especially being an offer. We were so very pleasantly surprised! We started with the house special cocktail "Apple Pie" which is a must have and the guys loved the Slovenian and Romanian beers. I'm not a huge fan of cauliflower but this was the best way of cooking it up, really fresh taste combined with the watercress and the smoked trout blini with dill was to die for.
The meat tasting platter was really nice and spicey and I really enjoyed it considering I hardly ever touch cured meats. All the extra little touches like fresh bread with good quality oil, bread sticks and gherkins were all very nice. Great grazing food! We then had the chicken with mushrooms which was so tender, saucy and yummy followed by the rack of lamb which was oven roasted and just fell off the bone. It sat on a tasty potato base (I think it had eggplant too) and combined was rich and fragrant. The potato salad side was lovely and so were the beans which I could not stop eating.
We had the cheese cake to finish with a shot of the vodka that was included in our package. There was nothing served throughout the night that wasn't down right delicious! We will be back with friends again, deal or no deal, great food, the staff were all very friendly and explained each dish and the ambience of the room was just right!
Highly recommended. Keep up the good work!

Latecomers we sat at the bar and enjoyed a selection of entrees and a wine recommendation. Would not have chosen the cauliflower without the assurance of our waiter it was well worth trying and he was so right. Delicious food, quickly served and offering great value.

We had such high hopes for the Food Society. The website really sells this new Darlo Hot Spot. But, unfortunately, we came away with a tainted experience.
We had booked knowing a Saturday night would be very busy but it became apparent that they weren't prepared. There weren't enough menus to go round and only 2 bar staff were serving a packed restaurant, which meant our drinks didn't arrive until well after we had commenced eating and only after several requests of their whereabouts.
Food on the whole was quite delicious. We opted for their communal 'share' menu of their top treats. We particularly enjoyed the cured meat plate, fried cauliflower, lamb ribs and cepavi.
Our request to swap a pork dish with the ocean trout blinis was greeted with much willingness to please but then was overlooked, which was disappointing.
The decor is very cool and on the website gives the impression of intimacy but would suggest slightly more subtle lighting with candles or lamp shades. The lighting made the room feel slightly cold and stark. The front reception area is weirdly brighter than Vegas but we decided that this was a technique to attract pedestrian attention.
Overall, a must-see and go with an empty tummy.
