I really enjoyed my night out at The Flame, Dee Why RSL. I had the salmon with mango salsa, very yummy. Good atmosphere, lots of space and great live music! Would definitely go back.

Bland food at its best. The food was poor, the service was good, the decor is an interesting eclectic mix, airport transit lounge meets 1970's bond movie.
If you find most cuisines "a bit spicey" and prefer bland un-troubling food then this is the place for you.

The worst of the mains was the garlic prawns and spaghetti, first time I've ever has this without the garlic! So it was a flavourless watery cream source with some prawns, quite disgusting. The best of the mains was the fish and chips, although very stingy on the portion size.

Do not eat here! Terrible bland and overpriced food. A very limited menu and the food is so inconsistent you don't know what you will get.

Never been here before and nice ambience. Lovely long gas fire place to keep us warm while we tried out the $7 cocktails which were very good value for money
I ordered the scotch fillet and my partner the thai crunchy snapper. 30 minutes wait to find the steak about 12 mm thick and very fatty. One of the worst steaks I've had in my life, and not value at all for $28.00.

In fairness the snapper was well seasoned, cooked, and presented, but overall not a good experience and we won't be back.

Good atmosphere for large groups, but food very average for a restaurant with mains around $30. Would have expected a salad or some vegies with the surf and turf. Scallops were not cooked sufficiently and tasted jellylike. Fettuccine special was very ordinary and lacking in flavour, with basil pesto tasting like the one from the jar at the supermarket.

Service was better than last time we went, when they forgot a meal, and that person got their meal 30 minutes after everyone else. We thought we'd tried it again, but service is the only thing that has improved here, the flavour of the food, and value for money is still severely lacking. We will think twice before going back again, the bistro food is most probably better tasting and better value.

I haven't eaten here for at least 6 months and was disappointed eating here the other night. Value for money = poor. Limited menu, 2 slices of sour dough bread $2.80. It came out half frozen only to be reheated and reserved. So much for fresh bread. $33 for a full rack of ribs or $26 half rack? Outrageous, I can get this for same price at Hurricanes Darling Harbour looking over the city and specialising in ribs. Yes the ribs were nice but value for money very poor and menu limited. $25 for a Waygu burger?

I didn't know inflation was rising at 25% since last visit. I won't be eating back here again anytime soon due to the expensive prices since I last visited. Yes the area is nicely presented but it still is an RSL not on the beach with great views. Stick with the Terrey Hills Tavern for a better feed next time round.

The food here is delicious, the quality is 5 star, fresh and generous. 5 star food in an RSL at this price is amazing and seen nowhere else. Flame restaurant is one of the best dining experiences in a club in Australia. I love to dine here for the variety of dishes and quality of food. I have also eaten at the bistro, the asian wok kitchen, the cafe with pizza and cake, and it's all fantastic!

We had work Christmas party there last night, and the service was fantastic. However, the food was very disappointing. I had Wagyu Kobe Beef with Surf n Turf(Lobster, Scallops etc). Steak was very average, definitely not wagyu nor Kobe beef. I grew up in Kobe, so I should know. Lobster tasted like tough flavourless shrimp, scallops were ok. For dessert I had Creme Brulee, which was average as well. Nice ambience specially for loud work party, however, I won't go back there for food again.

Good quality food but with a slightly limited menu for special needs (vego, coeliac etc). The service was very good with only a minor delay to receive our dishes.
This restaurant well and truly exceeded our expectations and will be our destination of choice when headed for an RSL meal in the future.
