Eaten here a few times now and never disappointed. Place is always busy and the service is good. My only complaint would be that the salad is very dull! But other than that, good quality food and buzzy atmosphere if you can get a seat.

My first ever 10 for value! This extraordinary fish shop has a very simple menu, but it is cooked with such perfection and dedication. It's a small shop - best for takeaway (down to Bicentennial Park)but equally you can eat in at the cafe-style tables. The burgers are actually cheap, and the daily specials are simply a great value meal served by someone who really knows his stuff. What a pleasure! I'll be back again and again.

I have been here so many times. I love to get take-out and eat it in the park across the road. The $7 fish and chips is great value as are the burgers. The homemade tartare sauce is also really lemony and great. These are the best fish 'n chips and the best value that I have been able to find in Sydney.

I have been here more times than I can count. Unfortunately, the quality seems to have become a little variable of late with the batter becoming less crisp and the portions reducing. The salt and pepper squid is still great as it the grilled fish.

Revisted feb 24: The chips weren't as good as the first time. The fish cocktails were dry and pasty, although the tempura prawn was nice. I think the best thing to try is still the mixed grill, and maybe the king prawns or a grilled fish, will try again.

Great value! Good food. Best chips I have ever had at any establishment. The mixed seafood grill looked fantastic, pity I didn't order it. It was only $13-50 with a salad and chips on a massive plate. The fish I had in the fish n chips was fresh.
I would go here for the fish, but not the burgers. We may have found our little quick an easy dinner for Wednesday evenings before trivia ha! This place was doing a roaring trade, they must have a huge turnover.

Definitely recommended, perhaps, better for take away, as there are limited tables. I wish I lived locally. I don't give many 10's but I scored this place a 10 for value. Well done!

Fantastic place. I’ve been here too many times to count because it is just so tasty. The chips are amazing and the fish is perfect. You are better off going in a pair or getting takeaway because it’s a small place but there is a park right across the road and their entire menu would be excellent picnic fare.

I went here on Australia day and ordered the King Prawns with herbs and garlic served with chips and a side salad (with balsamic dressing). Absolutely fantastic! The perfect size meal for me with all components cooked to perfection! My boyfriends grilled barramundi was cooked perfectly although the serving size was a bit small for him. All in all a fantastic place for takeaway!

Nice chips. Quite good fish. The burgers are ok too. The salt and pepper squid is nothing special but the calamari is quite nice. Many people come here to sit down and dine, but really this is more of a take away venue. I don't think this is one to rave about but its overall a pretty good for an early night take out.

Why haven't I reviewed this yet? It is simply an excellent place! The food is always perfect perfect perfect. Freshest marinated grilled seafood (can't go past the mixed grill), crispy salad with never a blackened leaf, and crispy beer battered chips. Lemon, tartare and balsamic vinaigrette make it extra special. Take away is great but the seating is really quite pleasant, so you can enjoy it extra hot and fresh on a large metal platter. BYO beer and they'll knock the lid off for you for free. Excellent value for consistently great quality casual food.

I'm a regular visitor to Fish on Fire, great fresh tasting food at ridiculously cheap prices. Seating is limited and not so great in the cold weather, but for takeway or casual quick meal this place is perfect. Grilled fish with rice is a fav and the burgers are good too! recommended.
