Nice meals though a tad expensive for the serving. The beer is cheap and it is a unique atmosphere, worth a visit but don't know if I'd go back, maybe for the bar food.
I have been 3 times and every time I have eaten something different from the menu. I have yet to be disappointed. The food is all very high quality and full of flavour. Of course being in the Bowlo is not the best for ambience but the great service, cheap drinks and friendly vibe make this place a pleasure to dine. Great for a group as the menu is mixed with something for all palates.
This is an exellent place with great service, have been there for the Roast nights and on a Friday. Very quick service and the food is a delight, not too much of a mixture of flavours, just good wholesome fresh tasting food. The carmelised banana tart is something else and just the right size. Finola seems to have the right idea on all portion sizes. Well worth a visit.
One of the few surviving small club bistros where the food is fresh, edible, inexpensive, and prepared with thought. Open, bright, pleasant surrounds. Alcohol from club bar is at reasonable prices.
I eat here at least once a week. The food is often perfect always good. Menu is very reasonably pitched as is the wine (reliable as opposed to visionary). They change the menu cyclically whilst retaining their favourties. The pie is top but it is the Fillet Steak with Bearnaise which floats m boat. Would be the busiest restaurant in Balmain if everyone knew about it - lets keep it our secret.
The best value for money venue on the peninsula. The service is always friendly. The veal is a real treat and the wine list whilst not extensive, is great value.
My partner and I have eaten here twice now and just love the food and value for money. It's well worth trying and don't be turned off by the bowling club, it's all a great experience. We loved duck tasting plate. I just wish my local club restaurant was this good!
