Fiesta is a small local operation. The decor is low maintenance. My friend and I ordered the Beef Works Nachos. It was big and satisfying though the plate was cold and the hot/cold mix of the chips/cheese/dips was not right. The topping sauce was quite tangy and we felt it repeating so we didn't end up ordering mains. Looking @ the other customers orders, they looked quite generous and simple in presentation. The service was honest and polite which was much appreciated.
This restaurant looks very unassuming from the outside, but on the inside it was painted in earthy colours and decorated with Mexican hats and old movie posters.
My husband and I went on a Friday night and it was quite busy from the outset. During our meal we noticed that they were turning away people because the empty tables were reserved, so the fact that this is a busy place is a good sign !
We had the cheese dip- and although it mentions it has chilli in it, was not that spicy. I could have eaten that dip all night, it was that delicious. We also had beef nachos as a starter- it was quite a big serving and was not laden down with beef (which is how I prefer it)
I had the chicken fajitas and was given a huge dish of the chicken, rice, guacamole and sour cream. Two tortillas arrived shortly after and that was all I could fit in. We were both stuffed by the end of the meal, but I still managed to finish the cheese dip.
Overall, I was really impressed with the food and ambience of the restaurant. The service was efficient, and judging from how busy it was, I will be making a booking next time so I don't miss out !
Mexican May Round 1 for 2008 was held at Mexican Fiesta Restaurant. A cosy atmosphere with a cactus holding the door open sets the stage, I already knew we would be in for something special. The hard walls elevate the sound levels inside, especially with our group of 25 people. We took up most of the restaurant. The quality of food was really good. It's tex-mex, but solid, delicious, and great value. I would like to see more spice and chilli coming through. I'm not a chilli man, but I expect a bit more in my Mexican.
The chefs did a brave job of trying to serve dinner to 25 people at once, but with a small kitchen they were behind the 8 ball to start with - I think they did ok, but we were waiting some time. I would have liked them to throw some more chips and dip to keep hunger at bay.
I would go back again in a second, albeit with a smaller group. The banquet menu was exceptional value (something like $24 and $29 a head all up - sweet!), with BYO and a bottle shop a throw away. Also, the dessert Churros are something not to be missed.
Congratulations to Mexican Fiesta Restaurant for serving up a tasty start to Mexican May 2008, despite Tristan telling the waitress she looks like Jenna Haze... (but in all fairness, she really does).
It is great to find good value and tasty Mexican food. From the building façade and entrance to stepping into the restaurant I felt like I was in Mexico. The interior is rustic and authentic (including the slow moving fan on the ceiling!) and the music playing took us into a land of fun and passion. The staff were friendly and attentive. Being BYO was an added value. An unexpected little gem!
Having eaten here on at least 6 occasions, I have always thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service and the value. The ambience is not great but once you tuck into your entree you will forget all about it. Waitresses have always been super friendly and super helpful. Definitely a great place for a meal.
Love the Jumbo Tacquito - affordable, huge and delicious. I love Mexican food and this place gives me a more than adequate fix every week. I take away, so I don't mind the decor at all.
I hate mexican food. This place has changed my mind! I can't get enough of the food here. Service can be a little up and down as they have changed waiters a fair bit since I first went, either way, you go for the excellent food!
Arrived early in the evening and this little restaurant was fantastic the meal was excellent plus the service as well overall pricing on meal was value for money and very filling.
