The Falconer is a music lovers hang-out, we serve great coffee and unpretentious food, and have some decent beers and wines on hand too - all served with care, flare and style.

It is a place for old friends to catch up, for new love to begin, for revolution to be seeded, contentment to be sought, connection and community to be found, and inhibitions to be lost.

Always walked past here and finally gave it a try. Staff looks a bit weird at first which scared us off a bit but they turned out to be really friendly and skilled. Nice atmosphere, really good food albeit a bit on the pricier side. Highly recommended for a nice dinner out!

I have walked past this place many time but finally got to try this place for dessert and coffee. It's bigger than expected with wooden floors and booth dining areas. Service was friendly and our group shared their tarts on display and coffees. Highlight would be the ricotta cheesecake and the banoffee tart. Would love to come back to try their food!

Went to The Falconer yesterday to celebrate a birthday, a lovely, down-to-earth, low key place, could easily pass as a cafe but features restaurant quality food a good selection of drinks. Everyone was satisfied with the entrees and mains and the king oyster mushroom and polenta is a must for vegetarians who want something different! we were able to sit comfortably for several hours and they had great indie/rock music playing in the background. Highly recommended!

Great food and marvellous service. I work down the road and try to come down at least once a week for lunch. Its a lovely little sanctuary with a really warm ambience. I recommend it to anyone.

I went there for my birthday last night and it was a beautiful experience.
The food is delicious and the best value that you will find anywhere in Sydney.
The service was faultless - easygoing, yet attentive. I'll be back!

Fantastic final meal for our last night in Sydney. We both had fish of the day (mahi-mahi) cooked beautifully and presented on a delicious crab risotto. Asparagus and toasted corn on the side.

The 'Tom Waits' dessert is a delight, consists of dark chocolate mousse, whisky ice cream and tobacco infused syrup. Thanks guys. Will visit again when in town.

This place is a gem! It is difficult to find a place in Sydney these days that serve up such a high quality standard of food without the Hatted restaurant price tag. Worked out to only be just over $100 for 2 people,(with a half bottle of wine, good and decently-priced wine list selection too), sharing the scallops and corn puree entree, a pasta and blue eye cod fish special of the day for mains, and sharing a chocolate mousse for dessert.

Ambience was rated a little lower as they had a function on the night we dined there, that took up the whole back section, so the noise was a little overpowering, but the service nonetheless was marvellous as the waiters never forgot to check up on us once in a while. Furnishings inside was like the (revamped) retro-style American style diners from the 1970s, and made for a very intimate dinner, whether for a romantic date, or for a casual dinner out with close friends.

We will most definitely return as they have an ever-changing specials menu where all their dishes sound tempting. This is a fantastic place all round!

Like one of the other reviewers, I have walked past this place many times, thinking it was just an old dark dingy café serving dishwater disguised as coffee. Something about the ugly sliding door at the front put me off. But go inside and you will find a warm and cosy diner with a genuinely local vibe.

The food is delicious, pasta special is always a treat and the wine list is rather tempting. The best part is the service, friendly and knowledgeable, the waiters are always keen for some banter and a laugh. I’m happy to call this my local for brekky, lunch or dinner. And I actually like that ugly sliding door at the front.
