It has been around for a long time and I hadn't been there for over a year. No change in many years, somehow it maintains an old world feeling without getting tatty. Service was good, staff friendly and have a sense of humour. Always has been a testosterone filled room (this time there was a total of 3 ladies lunching in the room, may be a record)

The food is very good. Three steaks and one serve of crumbed lamb cutlets cooked exactly as requested. It is a safe bet for a relatively informal business lunch. A little noisy and the tables a bit too close together for any serious business to be conducted.

Went there yesterday for a business lunch. It was terrible. We sat for 20 minutes without getting any service. I ordered a Gin and tonic which came without any gin. My husbands beer was knocked over and by the waitress and not replaced.

The food was cold, steaks tough, fish over cooked and chips limp. This was our favourite business lunch venue till yesterday now I wonder if I will ever go back.

Fresh tasty oysters and quality steak cooked perfectly. I've spent much more for far less in this town, would definitely go back.

Attentive waitstaff are always welcoming. Best steaks and good value for money. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere in which to enjoy a business or social gathering.

Quite a respectable steak, friendly service and well priced. Full of guys in suits having lunch and talking loudly. I enjoyed it but not upmarket nosh by any means.

Quality of food was very good, ambience is very pleasant and even though the restaurant was full on the Tuesday lunchtime we were there, the carpet helped soften the noise. Service was very pleasant (smiles etc) but we had to try hard to attract attention just to order. Value was very poor. $33 for a very small steak (with nothing else on the plate) just doesn't cut it these days, far better value for money elsewhere.

Sit in this restaurant and the decor and atmosphere takes you back 30 years. Yeah, Fairmont feels anachronistic but that's it's charm. This place does great steaks cheaper than you'll get at most Sydney steak joints. I tried their oysters and some kingfish sashimi, which were both very good. The staff know the regulars and treat them as friends.

Great place for a business lunch, very much a male clientele, steak and red wine, food is good and service great, not really a place to impress but ideal for a business lunch with someone you know, fairly expensive for what it is I'd say. need to book, even then it's often full.
