The Garden bar out the back is a very pleasant lunch venue. High glass roof makes a great daytime atmosphere. We had to wait for a table but once seated and ordered (from the bar) the meals were served very quickly.
Thai chicken salad was very good and came with a bowl of rice. My rating is for food not drinks as we only had lemon lime and bitters.
Had lunch there. Great atmosphere. Didn't expect much for lunch, but were pleasantly surprised. Simple menu and at suprisingly reasonable prices. For the amount of people being served, the guy in charge did a fantastic job and all of the diners seemed pleased and happy. Didn't have to wait long for service or food. Would go back there again for lunch. I think that I might be referring to the Garden Bar at the back.
One positive for this place is that people have put some effort into their dress standard. Great place for mingling and networking for business, social etc. Bar staff are fine, all other staff are way too over the top in many ways. Fun vibe amongst the place. However, not worth the stress and effort of not being sure you will get inside. My girlfriend and I have found many other great venues for a great night and it does not include this establishment. Ever again.
I like coming here for drinks because of the outdoorsy part towards the back but time after time I'm left cursing myself wishing I hadn't. The drinks are ridiculously overpriced and I'm sure sewer water tastes better. Staff are rude and unless you flash some skin to the boys, you're likely never to get served. And you can't sit down for one moment without being harassed by some wannabe try hard asking to go home with you.
I’ve been here for lunch with some work colleagues and the food is hideous! It was prepared really quickly however. I had a beer battered fish and chips and it felt like eating a solid chunk of beer; it was oily and the chips were undercooked. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. There are better ways to waste money!
Terrible vegetarian menu, little choice and a strange mix of tastes. The fennel and parmesan salad was very bland and every other course was overcooked soft vegetables and soggy asparagus. The ravioli was swimming in grease. Overpriced and bad food. Never again!
This is about the eatery at the end of the long bar. I've been going there for 5 years and it's always good value. Service is quick. The guy who controls the place is brilliant.
I was here two weeks ago! overpriced, underserviced, full of unfriendly staff! please dont waste your time and $ here! there are many many many more night spots around!!! and they are way...... better than this, check out around king street warf!!
I have been here a few times and I regret all the times I have wasted waiting in the bar to get an overpriced drink. Sure, they do a decent Mojito here, but I never go to a place because the drinks are decent, I'd rather stay at home and make one myself if that was the case. As mentioned before, there's one word that neatly sums this place up: Meatmarket.
The ratio between male and female patrons is absurd, most likely because the women know to stay away (unless they enjoy the constant, sad attempts to being picked by washed up wannabees). Please stay away from this place, the only thing you'll leave with is a tarnished impression of Sydney's otherwise great nightlife.
WHOA! Talk about a meat market! I came in for a few drinks with some girlfriends and we couldn't have a decent conversation without being interrupted by guys with "pop my cherry" badges!
What a joke. Door staff have no customer service skills. They are probably better off out the back packing shelves.
Was refused entry because it was apparently a "private function" inside. Little did they know that a group of my friends and family celebrating a birthday arrived five minutes prior and entered without any issues. Tried to reason with the staff but they were not interested. This shows the arrogance of the venue. The whole group of us including those inside left and we will never return.
As can be seen from my reviews, I dine at some of Sydney's best restaurants including est. (located above the bar). Just for the record, I was not intoxicated on the night. The management should take a look at the door staff. The image they portray says alot about the bar.
I won't return as there are plenty of other venues in the city that offer good drinks, and a more enjoyable atmosphere without the arrogance of poorly trained door staff. Don't waste your time.
