Haven't been here in a while and decided to try it again since it was always a reliable place to get good pub food at reasonable prices.

Unfortunately... Mushroom sauce for the chicken schniztel was more like black wine sauce with minimal mushroom flavour... horrible.

Caesar salad - since when do you chop up the lettuce into tiny strips for a ceasar salad? Well they do it here and the lettuce was old and soggy. Terrible. We asked them to take back the Caesar and were refunded the money.

This place has gone downhill which is disappointing as we used to be regulars.

A month ago I got a tbone steak which was cooked well but was the worst piece of meat I had about two bites off it. A week ago myself and a party of 10 had dinner, I ordered first and didn't receive my meal, I had to go ask for it and was told 5 minutes because they forgot it. They then delivered my meal to another table and so more time went past. Third time the service staff had shut and left so I had to go get my meal from the kitchen, and then go back to get the sauce. All this coupled with a completely flat beer. What a great night- after we left the pub.

So we ordered the hot spanish pizza and wagu beef steak. The pizza was very nicely cooked and tasty. The steak is definitely not wagu and not worth it for almost $30. The boy who took our order at the counter don't really understand the menu. Lady delivered our food was quite efficient.

This is my first review on this site. Anyways, after reading mixed reviews about this place, the wife and I decided to try it out after craving some meaty steaks. We saw the menu online for supposedly aged meat and thought how bad can it be? Usually pubs do steak semi decently.

Well the place looked nice, dimly lit by large plasma screens and candle lights, sorta segregated from the main pub area, was a nice touch and not too noisy. When the steaks arrived we were disappointed. We had both ordered Medium rare. They were more like medium and the worst thing was they were semi cold.

They must have been cooked and then left sitting somewhere while the sides were being prepared. The sides were what you would expect. As for the sauces they offer, don't get the Pepper sauce as its not peppery at all. The mushroom sauce is okay though.

For nearly $30 a steak at a pub, I expected a lot more. The quality of the meat I could tell was decent, you could really taste the marbled/fat on it but the cooking was the biggest let down.

As for service, its pretty much standard fare for a pub. Despite what others have said below, they Do bring the food to your table, so the service has changed over the years.

Had Mother's Day at the Epping Hotel. Mother's got a free glass of champagne and chocolates. My partner and I are vegan and they fixed him a gorgeous mushroom risotto. I'm also gluten intolerant and the gluten free pizza (sans cheese) was the Best pizza I've had in 10 years! Seriously, if they're making those bases themselves then hats off to the chef!

Shockingly over-rated! The put rocket in all our dishes, very creative chef! the $19 Pizza barely had cheese in it. The ambience was that of a bistro, loud and beer smell! But the worst was the service, your order pay and then come back to pickup your food and the Entertainment voucher entitled me for 25% discount, the girl couldn't be bothered so she gave us the cheapest dish free which was less than 10%.

Well it's a pub so there is not that much ambience and you order and collect your own food so the service is not really there. It took forever for them to clear our empty plates though, I had to move them myself.

The food is quite expensive for what you get. My 'salad' was not really a salad but really some baby spinach with 2 skewers of chicken and haloumi on top. It was quite nice though, fairly small. My boyfriend ordered lamb cutlets with a chickpea salad and he received only 3 tiny cutlets on a bed of beetroot stained chickpeas, the whole plate was basically chickpeas, I think a whole tin was just slapped on and that was around $25. I think they need to rethink the value of their menu.

Went here for dinner a few nights ago and was impressed with the quality of the food, although a little pricey for a pub. The drinks were a little pricey too if you wanted anything other than beer. But the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great.

Food here is of a consistent standard but I wouldn't call it good value for "pub food." Menu is large to cater for variety of tastes. Something for everyone. Drink service area is very good and staff there are very courteous and nothing is too difficult!
